Zero Waste Items Tested

Hello Loves,

So, it has been a couple of months since I have ordered a few zero waste products and, I am loving them! I wanted to really test them out to see how much use I get out of all of them and, I use everything everyday. I use a bag that is supposed to be for wet bathing suits to toss all the towels in. I fill the bag and, I wash them all about one to two times a week depending upon how much I am actually home. I have been looking for washcloths, facial rounds, napkins and, flannel cloth wipes. The napkins, I use like paper towels or, to clean my hands/face. The washcloths I usually use for the shower or, to put on oil. The flannel cloths I use to clean my face. They have all been extremely useful and, I had no idea I would use them everyday. The flannel cloth wipes are suppose to replace toilet paper but, I’ve been on the fence about that. I may use them as like wipes or, something like that but, I’m gun shy when it comes to using them as toilet paper. Facial rounds are used to remove makeup for the most part or, I have used them to take off my nail polish.

All in all, I am finding that I use less disposable products and, I am using natural things such as, coconut oil to clean my face. Now, I don’t need makeup wipes or, paper towels for the bathroom. I also, use some of the towels to clean the bathroom which works really well. The more natural and, zero waste I lean toward the more i am enjoying it. Finding use out of everything I eat etc.. is my ultimate goal but, for right now I am enjoying the journey. I plan on bringing all of these towels to Hawaii with me and, I think I am going to purchase two really good beach/shower towels to bring with me.

I want to talk about the quality of the products as well. Each towel is strong, soft an, well-made. I have had them for a few months now and, they wash and, dry very well. I usually toss them in the wash on hot or warm quick wash and, then hang dry them. I did accidentally toss them in the dryer a few times and, they were fine. I like that they are gentle against my skin and, do not cause irritation. I am looking forward to using the towels for many years to come!

Zero Waste Baby Wipes

To all the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends etc.:  Zero waste baby wipes, yes, it is a thing…. Wipe toxins are at 5-7 out of 10 for regular wipes. I looked this up when I was asked to bring wipes to a friend’s baby shower. I was alarmed at the toxin rate looked up a zero waste method and, found one! I bought chemical free, bleach free, harm free wash clothes for babies they were bamboo wash cloths. Here what you need:

Recipe: Boil 221ML of Water. Mix the coconut oil with warm water before putting them in the jar. Put wash clothes into glass container. Put cooled water into glass container and, 1TBSP of coconut oil. Close glass jar and, shake. Bam zero waste wipes. Once you use up the wipes you wash them and, the jar and, then reuse. There is no chemical harm, ph problem etc… And, you are not wasting wipes. If you want more zero waste tips please put it in the comments below and, I will write an article on what you request.
