Work Bitch Diaries – Day 1

Title may be a bit aggressive but, it is not meant to be offensive although, the name of my blog should say it all. This is really a platform for me and, you to ask each other questions, motivate and, help get through the work day. Sometimes you just need a little extra boost of support and, this is exactly that!

I made a facebook group awhile ago called, ” The Entrepreneur Life.” I made it kind of as an extended blog but, also a platform where we could help each other. I also, have a page for my blog, That’s A Bang Out Of Order and, one to promote products I’m selling on Amazon called, Ethical & Handmade Children’s Toys @ethicallyinclined . I like the idea that you all would be able to reach me and, vice versa through another platform. You can also, tweet me @thatsabang and, on instagram @thatsabangsfitme. I have about five instagrams because they all focus on different platforms. I will have everything listed below.


Okay, now that we have that all out of the way I wanted to chat a little bit about working at home. I think I have beaten this subject down quite a bit in past blog posts. I have posted about scheduling etc.. but, working at home is challenging and, I like to talk to you all about it as much as possible. There is a bit of a stigma on social media that working from home is so easy and, you constantly have time to do everything. Just like a 9-5 job, I too need to put in work hours during the week and, it can tend to get insane. I will find myself working on my laptop for five to six hours at a time and, I wonder what happened to the day. Or, I am listing items all day, working on social media posts, scheduling social media/blog/youtube videos, editing a video and, the work is literally endless. I could work 24 hours a day for a month and, still not be where I want to be business wise. All of these things tend to scatter in my head and, some days I struggle with which one to begin with. Although, they are all businesses they are still semi-creative and, you really need to be in the right mindset. Today I am blogging because I woke up and, that is exactly what I wanted to. It is almost like craving a type of food you have to have it and, really want it. Working tends to take priority over everything. Yes, I have been known to be a bit of a workaholic. The phrase, “The struggle is real,” is not really wrong it just depends on what struggle you are talking about. May looks like it is going to be two weeks of filming hopefully, two-three videos a day and, then the next two weeks of editing. Working on 4 blog posts three days a week and, working out. I have a month to get it together before I start applying to work as a waitress to prepare for Hawaii expenses. It is a bit stressful but, it is kind of exciting that everything is so up in the air. How do you all handle working from home? Are you able to balance your everyday life with your work life? Do you schedule everything out or go with the flow?

This week has been a bit odd for me I feel like I have been slacking pretty hard which, never happens. It’s funny, I’m not really slacking I’m just not working the forty plus hours a week that I have been putting in. If I am hanging out with friends, family or, doing something besides working I feel a bit guilty. I know it takes five years to grow a successful business and, I have three that I am trying to grow plus, a social media following. I really need to be present everyday for my businesses succeed but, I also, don’t want to neglect myself or, others in my life. And, little things like laundry or cleaning; or, big things like my health and, fitness. Sitting at a desk for 5-8 hours a day does not help my health or, fitness. I have been working out like crazy which, I will talk about in a fitness post. I try to go on walks or, take a break from the laptop because it literally sucks up my time. These next couple of weeks are going to be super busy however, that is my favorite part of my businesses. I love putting in the work to help them grow and, really paying attention to what I can do better and, rework my business model. How Am I juggling All My Jobs

 

Before, I start out with scheduling and, everything I do not by any means have this all figured out. I am constantly evaluating what I can do to be more efficient and, how I am really going to get everything done. I have weeks were I get so much done an, others where I just can’t seem to get out of my own way.  If you work at home I’m sure you go through the same struggle you have a bunch of laundry to do or, a room to clean but, you prioritize your business or vice versa. It’s almost like a double edged sword because, until your business is becoming an extremely profitable one you, spend any free time on it if, you are like me. So, you don’t actually allocate enough time for simple things like cleaning etc.. Lately, I have learned to balance it better and, wake up earlier. If, I want to be successful I need to put time into each business and, not neglect any of the businesses. Right now, I have my Amazon Business, eBay, Poshmark, Blog, YouTube Channel an, Freelancing jobs. I mean one of them is going to get neglected and, it happens more often then I’ like to admit.  I have found that scheduling is the best way to prevent any neglect from the business to happen. One mistake I make daily is that I try to fit each business in on one day. Instead, I need to dedicate one day a week for each or, one in the morning and, one in the evening. This is my third blog post that I am writing today and, I woke up around 7:00 a.m. it’s almost 1 p.m. It sometimes takes me awhile to write my posts especially if I want to post great and, informative content for you all to read; and, of course that is the only type of content that I want post. I need to write about fourteen articles a week so, I am always two weeks ahead of myself. It is not always easy to come up with fourteen well written articles without burning yourself out.  What I have done is researched questions people are asking and, then I will make up a bunch of drafts that I need to complete in the next couple of weeks. This way I am not constantly searching for content to write. For most bloggers that are writing for their audience they base their posts on what is going on that week. I try to have a good mix of both

 

10-11.5 hour Work Days

Hello Loves,

As I am listening to some tunes and, catching up on some blog writing I thought I’d chat with you all. This week has been a week of extremely hard work. No, I wasn’t digging any holes or, building a house but, I was building my eBay store. Between ebay ( which, to be  fair is getting most of my time), Amazon, Blogging and, YouTube I am a bit exhausted. I actually enjoy being this busy and, it is such a thrill to try to get these businesses to where I would like them to be. Reality is that I have at least three loads of laundry to wash, a dirty bathroom to clean and, a dirty room to clean. They aren’t disgusting but, it’s getting to be where I really need to clean but, where do I find the time… Well, considering that I find cleanness a necessity I need to prioritize. I talked on my instagram story about the importance of balancing work and, life when working from home. Honestly, I am actually really lucky I am single, live in my parents house and, have limited responsibilities. A lot of resellers that work from home are parents and, do not have as much as me to dedicate to their business yet, they are extremely successful. It is funny how much work I have actually been doing and, how much busier I am since opening up my eBay store. It is also, exciting and, a challenge that I am really to take on. Waking up earlier is going to have to happen for me and, utilizing my book to schedule. My number one priority is my health and, fitness which, I always make time for and, I would say the other ranking priority is my business where I need the money to support myself. Adding into my schedule will have to be laundry and, cleaning. I will also, be adding in daily walks and, yoga in the morning and, at night. Since I am sitting a lot or standing there isn’t constant movement like, walking which is a must for me. I thrive when I take walks and, do yoga. Giving my body energy through exercise will help me during my very long work days. Today, was a rare day where I went to the park with my family for lunch and, got to play frees-bee.  That is how I want me days to be, I work hard and, I play hard. I also, got some stuff done for both my Amazon and, eBay store and, hoping that some problems will be resolved. My parents helped me by doing some excel spreadsheet item inventory which, will be a big help when I go to list all of my items. I posted promotions in all my stores because I am looking to drive traffic to them. I have run a few ads for the first time on Amazon which, had seemed to be helping, I will have to look into the analytics. I also, took pictures of all the items that are going to be listed tomorrow on eBay. And, the freaking Long Term storage Fee for Amazon had me so salty this week when, I had to pay to ship items that didn’t sell back to my house. Needless to say there has been an influx of boxes and, a shortage of space which, is why all those items will be listed on eBay; I do not play around I got right to work unloading them and, listing them on eBay. There are a lot of item and, it will take me awhile but, rest assured I will have them all listed. That promoted my $1 off 4 books promotion going on in my eBay store right now! I have been so concentrated on my typing I didn’t hear the music turn off finally realized and, it’s back. Anyway, I want to make sure I am not just listing books this week so, I will tackle two of the Goodwill Bin bags that need to be listed and, half of one of the boxes in my office of clothes. In case you didn’t know any excess inventory you have laying around is called a dead pile, I do not want dead piles, dead piles equal money sitting around. Right now I have at least ten piles between my clothes, goodwill bin bags and, books that just came in. Ahhh….. That is way too many at most I would want one small dead pile in case of an emergency and, even that pile I wouldn’t have lying around for long. I averaged about 52.5 hours of work in the past five days. That is a rough estimate and, I somehow managed to have enough energy to make every single class at the gym that I go to Monday-Thursday! I don’t think I understood what tired was… Of course, I want these businesses to be successful so, I try all ways possible through social media to promote them. I made a news letter for my eBay store today because I felt I needed one. I will provide the picture below if you all would like to see it. Guess what is coming up in March? It’ book sale season! I am beyond excited and, a little nervous about juggling eBay and, Amazon during the book sale season. The challenge is quite compelling though, and, I just love doing both. One of my goals is to save up for a liquidation purchase of clothing that I can sell on both, ebay and, Amazon. No, I didn’t forget about Poshmark or, Vinted where I have been putting all the clothing/shoes I’m selling on eBay on that platform as well. Although, I have been swamped I have drafted a bunch of posts when it comes to selling and, I will be posting them throughout the Spring and, Summer so, get on the email list where it will notify you when, a new post is up.
