I’m In Hawaii

I know I have been talking about wwoofing for months on my blog, but I finally made it! I have been here for 23 days. I landed in O’ahu on the 30th of September, with no expectations, a small amount of money, one backpack, and the hope to having an amazing experience. Life is funny that way, you always end up where you want to be if you manifest it, and visualize yourself in the place you seek. Although, it has had its challenges, I am so happy. I think you may be able to tell by the gleam in my eyes for every picture I post. I will certainly be posting some pictures throughout this blog, no worries loves. I don’t know if I’ve ever genuinely been this happy before in my life, it’s like I didn’t know what I missing until I finally found it.

It really started back in the summer of eighth grade with a list, and a C.D. My parents had brought back this C.D. “The Love Songs Of Hawaii,” when I was seven, and I somehow ended up with it in my C.D. collection. I would say fate played a major role, or just the events that lead up to me coming to Hawaii. Along with that C.D. was I believe, “The Nutcracker, and Mozart.” I was very big into classical music while I was reading in eighth grade; it may seem like a strange choice, but it was calming, and great background music for a summer night of diving into a good read. Like all soon to be high schoolers, I had to choose a book to complete for my summer reading. This book, actually became my favorite book I have ever had the pleasure of reading. For some reason, I really resonated with the book, and it’s almost like I went through the journey with the characters of the book. I got the book by accident, it was called, Homecoming. I thought it was going to be about a high school homecoming dance, or something to that effect. Haha, I still chuckle at myself, because it’s the best mistake I have ever made. Homecoming, was a tale of children who were abandoned by their mom, and they have to make it to their aunts house on their own. My life doesn’t resemble this story, but it spoke to me, with every turn of the page my eyes engulfed every word. While reading this book, I listened to, “The Love Songs Of Hawaii,” I have such fond memories of me listening to this C.D., and reading this novel. It took me a month to read Homecoming; it was the largest novel I had read at the time, but I was determined to finish it. I am still not the fastest reader, but if I love a book, I tend to gobble it up! What can I say, I love to read…

I still have the C.D. , which I recently found, and put on my iPod before making my way to Hawaii. I guess this has been years in the making, unbeknownest to me. It took us about a year to plan this trip, including saving money, contacting farms, and finding where we wanted to go. For some reason I felt a calling to Hawaii, and now I know why. So far it has been an incredible journey, teaching me something new almost everyday. I will write more in depth about how I saved money, what it took to get here ( contacting farms), how to pack for wwoof in Hawaii, what food we buy, some easy vegan recipes with one burner ( no stove, or oven), how I’ve felt since I’ve been here, the work I am doing, and some tips I think you could benefit from. I will also talk about where we live, and my exercise routine. I will try to post at least 2-3 times per week, but bare with me, as I am already working 3-5 hour days four to five days a week, writing for a magazine, trying to get outside/ to the beach, hike, and explore. I, also want to start vlogging, I brought only my phone with me, because lugging around a camera was not an option, my backpack is even too much, but I’ll get there. I hope you enjoy traveling with me.

Mahalo,

Allie

Forever Seeking Wanderlust

” Today I seek all I sought.

Mountain chuckles are not so distant as I grow closer to my vision.

Repelling off of the hardened surface, longing for a undiscovered purpose.

I unexpectedly become unaware of the thin air.

Stop breath in, run your feet down the stone until your feet are but, inches from the ground.

Thoughts travel, mind in a scramble.

Upper lip drips while my concentration thickens.

Stop breath in, run your feet down the stone until your feet are but, inches from the ground.

Don’t withhold, clear your mind, take in the scene you were so eager to unfold.

Deep, Deep, Deepening, my breath.

My eyes are surely not deceiving, can it be a moment meant for me, its so tiny looking down sparkling blues, deep greens, the shining. Take in the minute never spared.

For we dream of days like these.

With adventures in our reach.

Our presence goes unseen, clouded by the days spent wondering about what is to come.

Never to become what was.

When the sun smiles back you, the ocean whispers a tune and, the mountains chuckle awaiting  your silly joke.

Listen, open your eyes and, send this message back to them;  I long to seek you from a far, as I seek you I am far but, now my eyes truly see no more deceit . It is exquisite once mind lets me be me. “

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

Wanderlust The Moments

Dreaming about places far away and, having trouble staying in the moment? Day dreaming can be nice but, it also, takes us out of our reality just like the virtual reality games… Fun however, staying in the moment is much more exciting then we think. I take advantage of smells, colors, and animals I see throughout my day. Even taking a walk is a privilege, I am thrilled to have two legs that help me to walk, to arms that can change my music, two ears to listen to my music, two eyes to enjoy

the wonders of our beautiful earth, a nose to breath in the air and, a mouth to taste the fresh air. Recently I have been posting about wanderlusting simple things like splashing my feet in a puddle and, seeing my friends. We often think what if my life was like this, we almost never think my life is amazing and, there is so much to be grateful for. Instead we dwell on the past an, long for adventures of our future instead of enjoying the present moment. When you hear “Live In The Moment,” it has become almost impossible because we have too much chatter from the mind and, others telling us there opinion, what they think, your life being decided for you. Walking like a zombie in life does not

benefit anyone especially, yourself. I have learned a few things from actually being out of college so which I already knew and, new and, exciting ways of living I should cherish; Life is what you make of it, you are never stuck there is always a way to make your dreams possible, nothing gets done in one day, stressing out does

nothing, listening is the key to be a good friend, enjoy the wander in your backyard, if you don’t like your life change it, everyone is the same and, no one should be intimidating to you, elderly people may

have more life experience but, it doesn’t mean they can’t learn from you nor, are they always right, forming less opinions about others is the best opinion you could have, wake up to something you love listening to, never let anyone get in the way of having an amazing

day everyday, expectations are over rated, adults such as ourselves are just children grown up and, meant to take life more serious but, you don’t always have to, enjoy a deep breath of air, walk as if it is

your last walk, be present and, stay in the moment, schedule yourself but, don’t over do it a day without a plan may be your best day ever, money will come and go love doesn’t, embrace others, have conversations that matter and, aren’t surface level, don’t hold onto anything negative instead, embrace it talk it out and throw it out its not important, start everyday fresh, and the most important be you, you are amazing and, people won’t get to know the real you if you try to make yourself something you’re not. My tip is

have to a great support system of friends who you love, encourage, build you up, don’t take them for granted. If you don’t have supportive friends who have deeper thoughts then the next trendy item I suggest finding out more about that person and, turn your acquaintance into a friend. This year my word is determined which is defiantly a perfect word especially when it comes to working; I have two ebooks I’m working on, Amazon book selling,

YouTube, with a new channel foreverseekingwanderlust, Blogging, pet sitting and, hopefully an etsy shop will lotions to debut sometime late October-November.. I have been extremely busy! But, with all of that I still want to learn on a free site called futurelearn.com, and study to get my permit then, license. With all of these accomplishments and, goals I have still managed to stay in the moment, see friends and, am trying to fit in cleaning haha. You are all bus as well and, I thank you so much for taking the time out of your schedule to read about my learning curve and, staying in the moment. Next year my word is going to be embrace which comes as a bit of a struggle to me at times and, even now I am encouraging myself to embrace others. I have one more tip and, then I want to close with a challenge I have for you all. I know not everyone is religious and, it is not something I have talked about openly on my blog I believe in God and, find that having a

conversation with God almost everyday helps my day to go by smoother. I do chat and ask why this or that happened and, sometimes I get a sign and, most of the time I don’t. But, I believe that faith helps me to carry through the day. This year I was so blessed to be able to spend a week as a chaperone helping the youth but, also, helping those in the Tennessee area. I got to work on a women’s home and, I had a long chat with her one of the days we were working just about family and, farms. The last day we were all set up for a picture and, she asked where the little red headed girl was from the other day we all assumed it was another girl one of our youth that she was talking about when suddenly I realized she meant me. Mind you I was kind of dressed like a boy that day in basketball shorts, a t-shirt and, a batman baseball cap. As I acknowledge I was there I couldn’t help but, giggle in my head thinking I won’t describe myself as a little redhead girl but, I was so humbled that she had remember me and, the conversation we had. I will never forget our little special bond, hugging her and, her saying you are leaving. We of course had to leave it was our last day on the project, the team leader said to her you will have another group helping you in two weeks and, I’ll never forget her words, “I don’t want

another group, I want this group.” In the beginning of the week she was a little bit timid, weary of us and, by the middle of the week she came outside to work with us by the end of the week I had a memory that would last a lifetime. You may not all be religious but, I hope sometime in your lifetime that you are present and, aware enough to experience the same kindness and, connection that I did. So, I challenge you to volunteer anywhere over the next year, write down words that you need to conquer in your life, get off your devices and, live.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie

One Of My Favorite Songs For The Last Three Years Or So:

Real Estate Junkie

It seems “Virginia Is For Lovers,” at least when it comes to me and their real estate. This week is focused on affordable housing, because, lets face it, most of us are not millionaires. The house you are about to see has a quirky exterior with a gem of an interior. The inside of the house was not as I expected it to be at all; it is modern, open, with great lighting. This house is a perfect one to own given its unique qualities.

These 3 bedrooms’ and, 3 baths’ were meant for outdoor lovers’ who will drive their boat in the marinas. It is placed on 2 acres with a community pooled just around the corner. The plus to a community pool is that you don’t have to deal with the maintenance of your own pool, which gives you much more time for that boat of yours. Your porch is in need of some sweet tea and lounging of course, done by you. I know porches always get me so, I thought I’d include something from the original listing, “12 x 15 Screened Porch with lovely natural views over the headwaters.” One patio and, an enclosed porch is amazing especially if you want to have family over for a big dinner outdoors and, don’t want to get eaten up by bugs.

This is one of my favorite rooms because it not only, has some of the coolest doors but, it has a fireplace. A fireplace is so important for a home, at least for me, because it gives it an extra cozy feeling. The house has creek views, a master bedroom with a walk-in closet, storage space, and a car port. If a garage is important to you, I don’t see why you couldn’t build one especially with 2 acres.

The kitchen area is serene and, it seems to open onto the back screened in porch. I enjoy when a kitchen has space for bar stools as well as, a little table for your family to enjoy their meal although, I would be on the patio in the summer and, by the fireplace in the winter but, that’s just my preference.

I thought for the last photo I would show the only picture they include out of the three bedrooms. I would have to see all of the bedrooms to compare but, I enjoy this space as it is one of the most important spaces. My bedroom is my space to work, wind down, and curl up with a book so, I think your connection and vibes should be strong when choosing your space. If you do not have good vibes and, purchase a home there will always be something not right with it, remember to go with your gut.

Business Shenanigans Day 1

Hello Loves,

Today I am chatting about my business trip and what happened the first day. It was chalk full of shenanigans now, I have a better idea of how to use my PDA and, what I need for it. Road trips to P.A. are always fun, it is a short distance, and usually pretty scenery once you get off of the highway. We landed at Bird-in-Hand ready to get to our room and jump in the pool. I always try to find places to stay that have a pool because, well, I’m a pool junkie. I like to swim as much as I can and, when I was younger if there was a pool I was in it and swimming around for hours. The way I feel when swimming is almost indescribable, I just love it. Well, we walked into the hotel to check in and, of course nothing can go smoothly, it turns out that we weren’t booked to stay in the hotel but, rather in the motel. If we weren’t paying $96 something a night I wouldn’t have been as upset but, since we were I was. I was absolutely not staying in a motel for $96/night if that was the case I would have booked a motel for $50-$60/night. We had booked through Expedia and, they IMG_3363booked us in the motel not the hotel. Apparently if you book through Expedia they can put you anywhere without you know where you are being placed. I was not aware of this when I was booking the trip and, of course was shocked when I got there to find out we were not staying in the same place ( I was not impressed at all.) After about two hours on the phone with Expedia we ended up paying an extra $70 to stay in the hotel. There was a major difference between the rooms and, I was not staying in the motel for that kind of price. We still have to speak to Expedia to at least get the extra $70 we spent back. When you have specific money set aside for this type of a business trip $70 can be a big hit on your wallet. We settled in the room, pool and, went to Panera for dinner. It can be difficult to eat as a vegan in Lancaster, PA but, I ha a much easier time, this trip. While at Panera I had a moment of sheer panic because I had left my laptop in my dads car which was at home in N.J. huge mistake on my part and, I immediately lost my appetite mid spoonful of black bean soup ( which is delicious and, one of my favorite vegan dishes to get from Panera). My dad ended up meeting us halfway, thank god, and we retrieved the laptop and splashed into the pool when we got back. Why was the laptop so important? Well, what you don’t know is that I have been trying to download aseller tool onto my PDA so I could use the PDA for the book sale and no longer use my phone. Asellertool is hella-expensive and, I wanted to get full use out of it. Now, to get the PDA to work I needed a scout which plugs into the top of the PDA ($250-$300 piece) I also, needed to have a compact flash that is 2-4GB which I didn’t know until the second time I talked to aseller. Then I needed a converter to plug the SD card to install the aseller tool unto the PDA but, we’lll get to that tomorrow. So, the laptop was crucial to get the asellertool onto the compactflash and, then onto the PDA. If you followed all that you defiantly get props because it was confusing even when I finally understood what I needed. So, I should mention that I had purchased the compact flashes on Amazon but, they weren’t arriving until the next day.. yeah.. So, because there was an option to download directly onto the PDA I tried that and the download was like an hour altogether. Now it is late like 10:3-11p.m. and, I have a book sale at 7a.m. the next day. I end up staying up until 3a.m. trying to get this to download and, it kept giving me an error. Or first day in Bird in Hand did not go as planned at all and, I’ll leave off that I woke up exhausted the next day. Stay tuned for the continuation of the business trip story.
Have an enlightening and adventurous day,
allie

My Vegan Diary Day 1

Dear Diary,

It has been awhile since writing to you last and, I can’t wait to share what I have eaten. Since becoming vegan I have tried, tested and, made a lot of vegan food and, now that I feel I kind of have a grasp on the food part I jumped on the workout bandwagon. Yes, I do not like to admit that I let my workouts slip but, I did and, I am certainly paying the price. After making the mistake of thinking just because I am vegan I don’t have to work out as hard I have gained some unwanted lbs. Was I eating all whole foods? Haha, no I’m glad you mention that because it is good to be able to have more greasy vegan food or processed food but, I’m afraid my body does not really agree. I have been laying off the vegan “junk food” as much as possible and trying to carb the F up the right way. As you may have heard from one of my posts I joined the gym and, started swimming again! I am so happy to be back on track and rid myself of the evil unwanted extra fat. Today I swam for about 10 minutes, took a yoga class, and did zumba. Although, I am exhausted I feel fantastic. Let’s take a look at what I ate throughout my day.

Breakfast:

I promised you all the recipe to this amazing nice cream on my instagram so, here it is.

Strawberry nice cream: Half a bag of frozen strawberries, 3-5 frozen bananas, and a little bit of almond milk. Blend in your food processor or blender until you get a creamy ice cream like consistency.

Chocolate nice cream: add a tablespoon or more depending on how chocolatey you want it to taste. The add 3-5 frozen bananas and blend untile you get the ice cream consistency.

Enjoy or add chia seed gel for a great topping. Look up how to soak chia seeds I am in the beginning stages of testing this.

Lunch:

Lunch was heaven in the backyard as a picnic! I love backyard picnics, don’t you? I also watched a few episodes of Charmed on Netflix!

Lemon Water

Dip: Chick peas mashed and avocado

Salad: Bag of salad, carrots, apples, tomatoes

6:45 p.m. ish I went to the gym as I mentioned and, do all of those activites

My face after Zumba- if you want to get updates in real time follow me on insta @thatsabangsfitme

Zumba was so much fun and, it really proved to me how much I want to get back in shape!

Dinner:

Of course ended the night with a mason jar with lemon water.

Dinner was leftover salad, dip from lunch, half an avocado, and two baked sweet potatoes.

It was a great day filled with accomplishments not only with my health but, with my work as well.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my diary! Please share and, comment I’d love to get a conversation going about vegan food and, your favorite vegan recipes.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie

Forever Seeking Wanderlust

Ciao loves,

My new YouTube Channel is here, forever seeking wanderlust. Forever seeking wanderlust is a channel that will provide ethical fashion and, travel videos. I know there will be questions on why I decided to start a new YouTube Channel when I already have allie vLuv that I am still trying to grow. I still love my channel allie vLuv, no pun intended but, I also, have grown as a person and, some of my perspectives/ views have become stronger. With a longing to travel and a desire to join the ethical movement forever seeking wanderlust was kind of a no brainier. With a blog post series already called, forever seeking wanderlust and, an opening for the name on YouTube & Instagram it had to be fate! So, from now on all ethical/travel videos will be found on my new channel forever seeking wanderlust. That means my capsule wardrobe planning process and, finally getting my fall capsule wardrobe will be featured on forever seeking wanderlust and, of course on here, my blog. I think you all will really enjoy this new channel and, what it has to offer!! I know I am pumped and, trying to figure out how I want to edit the videos and, what videos I want to film on this channel. It is such a particular niche that I want to keep it that way. All of my other videos will be put onto allie vLuv which is board and, I love it that way. Until you all jump over to subscribe to forever seeking wanderlust I will post all my videos on allie vLuv as well so, you don’t miss out. Eventually though, forever seeking wanderlust will have it’s own platform and, no longer be featured on allie vLuv because they are two different channels. I am trying to decide if my travel videos are going to be vlogs or not because I have quite a few trips coming up business wise & as a chaperon! As you all know, I am also, saying for lovely Italia! My new video is about ethical fashion and, breaking news within the ethical fashion industry. I play my role as a news caster which is actually kind of funny and, also, touches on some serious topics. I think this will be either weekly or bi-weekly which is so much fun! It also, spreads the ethical fashion message. Here is the video enjoy and, please subscribe it would be most appreciated!

I joined a gym?

Yes,

Hello loves, I have joined a gym but, not because of the gym equipment but, mainly because of the pool!! I will be starting my training to try to get my swimming back to where it should be. Today on my vlog I talked about moving my channel toward fitness and, ethical fashion. On my new YouTube Channel “Forever Seeking Wanderlust” I will be posting travel vlogs and ethical fashion videos. If you are a follower of allie vLuv don’t worry I will still be posting vlogs, hauls, makeup, and vegan videos. Back to the gym, well, I had enough with not being physically fit. I have a few knee problems and, Reflex Nerve dystrophy so, I want to ease back into really getting in shape. I used to be on the swim team when I was younger and, just swim a lot in general. I will start with getting back into swimmer shape and, work on my technic. Once I have been able to get myself to a solid 20-30 minute swim I will start to incorporate a challenge that I would to put on the YouTube Channel. I was watching a YouTube Channel I will link a video down below, and, he was doing 40 hours of working for the week. It gave me he idea of pushing myself to do 3 hour challenge and 1 hour every other week to build up resistance. I will have to be careful of running because of my knees I will have to build up fast walking/jog to a run. Once I have established a jog, longer swim I can start the 3 hour 2 week challenge and keep building that up until I reach my 40 hour goal. I realize that it will take me about a month to get myself back in semi-swimming ready. I also, want to be able to bike to the gym over this summer which will be amazing when that happens. The visual of riding my bike to the gym is inspirational in my mind and, I can not wait for that vision to come to life. What we manifest, we put out to the universe what we want and, in return the universe usually gives us what we would like. We have to want it, think about, pray about it (if you are religious), write about it, and act on it. Your positive acts, thoughts, and feeling will be contagious; it is the kind of contagion that I wish would spread throughout the world. I am very excited to peacefully transition into a healthier/fitter lifestyle. As I start to lose weight it will be captured on all of my videos. I plan on eating vegan, of course, but, I will either be fruitarian or rawtill4. I will be learning what my body fuels on best when working out more and, how much I will need to bring with me. I am thinking i will be incorporating more medjol dates, smoothies, bananas, and of course my favorites melons!! I just bought a cap for my hair so I can swim with ease, I already own a one piece bathing suit, and goggles. I know that bathing suit isn’t going to be so flattering but, in my mind I have gotten over myself and, focus on where I need to get my body in order to be healthier and, have a happier life. Are you all excited to follow me on my journey, what are some post you would like to see, do you want me to do a weekly diary of how I am doing what I eat and, how I am coping with this new workout schedule. I am a little nervous, determined, excited, and motivated lets get it! This journey is amazing….

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie

How My Jobs Are Ethical

Ciao Tutti,

I am so glad you all are enjoying the posts don’t forget to follow me so, you can get alerted about my latest posts. If you all want to get email notifications every time my blogs are posted visit my blog www.thatsabang.com and sign up! I am so excited to kick start the approach of summer with some challenge and, controversial topics! For those of you that don’t know I am an Amazon book seller and sell on Poshmark. Today i’m going to chat with you about why these jobs are ethical and, how they are helping the environment. Lets start with Amazon where I go to book sales and, then list the books on Amazon. There is a great little cycle for this; used books are donated to the book sale, books are purchased from book sale, books are sold on Amazon, and then the buyer either donates the books, keeps them, or lends them out to friends. Rarely do we see books being thrown out which is fabulous. Not only do book sellers keep the book industry going but, they also, keep the cycle of reusing the book. Poshmark allows you to sell clothing from your closet which means when you are done another lady can get use out of that jacket you don’t need or, those shoes you never wore. The beauty of this is that you can make a nice income while recycling your clothing to other Poshers. Both of these businesses allow me to be ethical without even trying. And my blog/YouTube Channel allows me to spread the ethical message and, informing those who do not know. I really like how this all comes full circle. It is incredible to have businesses to allow to do and, chat about what you believe in. A video discussing this topic will be posted on my YouTube Channel allie vLuv as well. I also, wanted to let you know that I have a new YouTube Channel Forever Seeking Wanderlust. Lets get the discussion going in the comments let me know what you think about ethical and, sustainable fashion.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie vLuv

Trending: Vagabond Lifestyle

So, in today’s world you work in the corporate world, 9-5 job, and 90% of the people working are burnt out, stressed and, zoned out of life. That is not completely accurate because there are many people selling everything and, traveling the world. To me this is the best idea and, what I strive to do in life. So, why is living a vagabond lifestyle popular? People actually sell their cars, houses, and most everything they own just to travel and, live out of their backpacks? Yes, and I am beginning to see the draw and, passion for just living. Why not drop everything and travel around the world that has a much greater appeal then working hard long hours to eventually hate life. So, what happens if you are like me and you don’t have a house or car to sell? Well, I am working to establish a nomad kind of lifestyle. I just started a travel YouTube Channel called Forever Seeing Wanderlust and, I hope that my journey’s on there and, on my regular YouTube Channel allie vLuv will help me to create an income for myself. I have my blog, selling books on Amazon and, I am looking into selling fair trade t-shirts on etsy etc.. I also, sell on Poshmark. I am hoping with this large combination of jobs that I will be able to provide a great income for myself to travel. I would also, like to have the means to purchase a better bike and, car. How do you think you would be able to provide a nomad lifestyle for yourself and, where would your first trip be to?

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,
