Real Estate Junkie: Dream House

Hello Loves,

I hope you had an amazing weekend and are having an amazing week. Tomorrow I actually start a creative writing challenge and, my other 30 day challenges I will talk about that in one of my blog posts so, make sure you follow me to be able o see all of m new posts. Today I got stung four times by wasps and, my hand is having a bad reaction it is swollen and hurts like a mo-fo… I am trying to write with both hands and, I’m like naw bro what are you doing. Trying to push through it for you all so, I can get all my posts up this week. Fingers crossed tomorrow the swelling goes down.Well, it is the next day swelling has gone down and, I can actually type with both hands. Yesterday I went on Pinterest and went to town pinning what I want in a dream home. I have traditional taste mixed with modern take. I like British country, traditional French, a touch of modern and, earthy mix when I looked back on my Pinterest Pins. This taste in a home does not surprise me and, I would say is extremely accurate. When I imagined my home I always thought of it to be a warm inviting place where my friends and family could spend a magical summer. I want nooks of the house where you can get lost in a book, a room filled with thousands of books and, places that bring out the child within all of us. Seems like a beautiful place to live in my mind. I want a light airy flow to the house and, for it to also, have a homey warm vibe, like the kind most people get on Christmas. I do not want the house to be so big that I wouldn’t want to live there but, I also, don’t want it to be too small that I would not be able to have lots of guest. Looking at the pictures on pinterest I think I have created m dream home. Of course, at the moment I wouldn’t be able to live on my own let alone this large however, I am manifesting my dream of someday creating or owning a home just like this one. I will take my favorite pictures and they will comprise my dream home.

The Home:

By now I am sure you have concluded that I like unique ways of having or doing… For that reason I absolutely hate cookie-cutter houses an, the Stepford creepy neighborhood where all the houses look different. I want my home to warm inviting view from the driveway when you are driving up. Imagine driving up to find trees to the right an left of you and, you can see a peak of the house through them. These are the three was I imagine the drive up to look like.

Which one do you like the most or would want to pass through when entering a friend/family members’ driveway. Now that we have moved through the driveway we have a house to see starting with the exterior.

Elton Hall is a baronial hall in Elton - Cambridgeshire. It has been the ancestral home of the Proby family since 1660.

Belton House | Carolean architecture is England's only true vernacular style since the Elizabethan days.:

Each of the exterior fronts of the homes provide different aspects of the home I would like. The first exterior is probably about the size I would want my house to be I also, like the warm, light country vibe it gives off. the second exterior shot is a bit creepy but, if you just focus on the ivy and, door those are the traits I love. The third house although very large, and not light gives me great architecture and a powerful feeling when approaching the home. As to stick to being unique I would want my home to create a presence that is welcoming yet, stunning when approaching it. I also, don’t want it to look brand new I want it to show some history airing an idea of creating great memories when inside if the home.  What do we always want to do on a sunny day or warm night our family usually has dinner or breakfast on our porch; it is where I go to read, listen to music and, just enjoy the day. Let’s see what my front porch might look like..

Now that I have a place to drink my smoothies and, enjoy my company let’s head for the door. Each door brings it’s own feeling to me as I imagine opening it. Picture yourself entering my house which door do you feel is the right fit. I was particularly hard to chose a front door because it really defines your home.

A Fabulous Front Door for Fall:

I love these doors. Close just the bottom in the spring and fall and feel the…:

dream house: the front door.:

Lets start with door number one it is charming and inviting with a structure build to fit the house. The second door is quaint and, a door you would find in an old country home. I enjoy this door not only because it is split but, because it has a magical aspect not unlike the door you would find to the cottage of Sleeping Beauty. The last door is chic, sleek and, modern. It still gives of an inviting older asethic and, has plenty of light to bring into the house.

We are going to make our way to the kitchen as it is one of my favorite rooms of any house and, where families tend to find themselves spending the most time. There is one design of the kitchen I am enthusiastic about and, you will see why.

Love the wall of windows in this loft home in Amsterdam (via dustjacket attic):

We will start with the second kitchen because I have an idea for the first and last kitchen. Beautiful light airy country kitchen with a large sink. It is simple and stays with a modern yet, English country theme. The first and lat kitchens are by far my favorite especially the last one. They are modern, rustic and, edgy. The most drawing part of the kitchen are the windows in which I would want to combine the full wall windows with the partial round window in the first picture. I really foresee that

to be a stunning kitchen. Outside of the kitchen I would like a garden since the kitchen has such amazing views.

Wow! Could camouflage get any better than this? Garden with secret door. Secret Garden.:

I would love to have a secret garden just outside of my kitchen. The mystery continues are we walk our way unto the other parts of my garden be prepared I have a lot of pictures and ways I want my garden to be.

Wow that was a long walk so glad we found our way out of the maze now, we can take a dip in the pool before we head back for the house. I don’t know if I would ever have a backyard big enough to accommodate all of those garden and, secret doors but, if I ever do that would be amazing. Let’s go for a nice soak in the hottub and then cool off with a shower.

I love this idea not only because it’s fabulous but, it is beautiful to sit in and, enjoy a book or snack with family or, friends. I have not completely decided what living room would be best which is why I am leaving that out for now. We will head into the library and dining room, then finish with the master bedroom/bath.

Real Estate Junkie: Colts Neck N.J.

We pass by this little house on the way to church and, my dad says, ” that is the perfect size house for you.” I say, ” I can’ afford that house or any other house at the moment..” Needless to say I found out how much the house is and, I am not surprised knowing how expensive the Colts Neck area really is.. I would need to make a lot of money off of my Amazon book selling before I am even close to thinking about owning a house. I do want to own a few properties and, rent them out. Actually I would like my first house I own to be a rental so, I have even more income coming in when purchasing my home. And, no I definitely do not want to rent an apartment i want to save my money and purchase a home. I’m going to do a Real Estate Junkie my dream home edition next week with ideas about how I would like my first home. Feel free to comment and, let me know about great real estate you think I would like as my dream home. Getting into Colts Neck a pretty swanky area that used to be almost all farm land of course, since hen it has turned into multi-million dollar homes but, still has the charm of having a lot of land and, farms. Being my realistic self I am not showing you all a multi-million dollar property that only about 20% of America could afford instead here is a property that is still within most budgets and, still in Colts Neck.

This cute cape is nestled in the village part of Colts Neck this means you are within walking distance to everything but, unlike most towns Colts Necks doe snot have a main town and you will most likely be driving everywhere especially because the highway is right down the street. Some perks are that it is by two shopping complex’s with a Dunkin’ Donuts, pizza, dance etc. Delicious Orchards is a skip and a jump down the highway which is great for apple picking in the fall an, has that country town vibe however fair warning, Delicious orchards can be pricey so, you may be headed to a ShopRite or farmers market instead..

The backyard does look spacious which is nice because there is a smaller yard in the front which can make it difficult when your children want to play outside. Located in a semi-quiet neighborhood and, the plus is that there is a restriction on the hours traffic can come in and, out of the highway. From the looks of the house it does need some work and unfortunately they did not post pictures of the whole house which gives you all the more reason to take a look. From the looks of the back something I would add to the house is a sunroom, porch and, possibly a deck. They stated that there is enough room if you wanted to build a pool. It is three bedrooms with one bathroom which is why I would probably add at least two more bathrooms if possible. It has an eat-in kitchen and living room on the first floor.

Zillow estimates that you could receive about  $2,200 in rent a month. The price they are asking is about $335,000. In 2007 the peak of the market the value of the house was over $400,000 and, based on the comps in the area if you were to put in a little bit more to the house it could go in the $600,000. I would be sure to check with that before purchasing the house because I am not a professional and, that was an educated guess.

I hope you enjoyed this addition of Real Estate Junkie look out for next weeks post on m dream home..

Have an enlightening and adveturous day,

Real Estate Junkie

It seems “Virginia Is For Lovers,” at least when it comes to me and their real estate. This week is focused on affordable housing, because, lets face it, most of us are not millionaires. The house you are about to see has a quirky exterior with a gem of an interior. The inside of the house was not as I expected it to be at all; it is modern, open, with great lighting. This house is a perfect one to own given its unique qualities.

These 3 bedrooms’ and, 3 baths’ were meant for outdoor lovers’ who will drive their boat in the marinas. It is placed on 2 acres with a community pooled just around the corner. The plus to a community pool is that you don’t have to deal with the maintenance of your own pool, which gives you much more time for that boat of yours. Your porch is in need of some sweet tea and lounging of course, done by you. I know porches always get me so, I thought I’d include something from the original listing, “12 x 15 Screened Porch with lovely natural views over the headwaters.” One patio and, an enclosed porch is amazing especially if you want to have family over for a big dinner outdoors and, don’t want to get eaten up by bugs.

This is one of my favorite rooms because it not only, has some of the coolest doors but, it has a fireplace. A fireplace is so important for a home, at least for me, because it gives it an extra cozy feeling. The house has creek views, a master bedroom with a walk-in closet, storage space, and a car port. If a garage is important to you, I don’t see why you couldn’t build one especially with 2 acres.

The kitchen area is serene and, it seems to open onto the back screened in porch. I enjoy when a kitchen has space for bar stools as well as, a little table for your family to enjoy their meal although, I would be on the patio in the summer and, by the fireplace in the winter but, that’s just my preference.

I thought for the last photo I would show the only picture they include out of the three bedrooms. I would have to see all of the bedrooms to compare but, I enjoy this space as it is one of the most important spaces. My bedroom is my space to work, wind down, and curl up with a book so, I think your connection and vibes should be strong when choosing your space. If you do not have good vibes and, purchase a home there will always be something not right with it, remember to go with your gut.

Real Estate Junkie

Hello, my name is Allie and I am a real estate junkie. Oh my, the amount of time I could spend looking at Real Estate is, infinite. I don’t know what it is about real estate but, I love it. It may be the possibility of living in many places or, the history behind the walls. Now, I don’t enjoy all real estate in fact, I want to own many different kinds of real estate. I think there is something to be said about having a family home where all of your relatives can come to on special occasions or long summers. I want to eventually own an estate to use on occasion and then turn it into a rental space, or other things, “I have a few ideas in mind depending upon where it is.” Right now I am looking at real estate a little closer to home that I may want to own, rent out, air b and b, or have bed and breakfast in the next ten years. The real estate is not cheap and, may not even be available but, I am hoping to have he money to gobble up a few prime spots in many different destinations. I am a big fan of unique properties that have a decent amount of acreage and are not too close to other houses. Having farm land is an advantage especially if I were to have a bed and breakfast so, we would have fresh produce to eat/cook. A house that I would actually like to live in would be very different, maybe a converted barn or something to that extent. I would want to live in a medium sized house with the option of having a few larger houses where my family could gather and enjoy each others company. Right now I am no where near being able to afford a home let alone multiple homes. I am currently at my parents house and, I’m ok with that for now until my businesses start to pick up a larger income. I plan on taking what I earn save, invest in a property, and travel. I think traveling is very important and, it may give me an idea of how I want to live once I am on my own. I have defiantly been bitten by the travel bug and, I want to visit as many places as I possibly can. When I’m traveling I would like to blog and vlog about the places I am staying and my experiences.  I think it would be awesome if I got a chance to stay at properties in other countries and explore the way their houses etc. were built and, the history behind them. I am a true real estate junkie because I watch documentaries of the history of how palaces, and important architectural structures were made. I find it fascinating that we are walking the same steps of others who have come before us. Real Estate has been such an important part of history an, was often gifted by royalty to those who did favors for them. By doing a favor for a queen or king it may have also, earned you a title that you would not have gotten unless you were blood related to a person of a title. All of these structures have held people of great importance and, some of which their importance is unknown. Do you ever get the overwhelming feeling of how much history has taken place on the floor you now step on. That is one of the reasons I am so addicted to real estate and, the promise of the memories I can add to the home. I think the next place I will be looking in is NYC- I think I’m going to take a peek at Brooklyn and, where I could imagine myself. If you are looking for a place in Brooklyn let me know in the comments and, in my next post I will have some real estate options/links. Woohoo Brooklyn here we come! Should this be N.Y.C. month? Let me know in the comments if I should write about all the areas in N.Y.C. and, what I see about the next up and coming neighborhood. I do have to say that it seems almost all areas of N.Y.C. are up and coming these days….

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,
