Capsule Wardrobe Haul-Prana

Ciao Tutti,

As you all know my capsule wardrobe is coming together well. To save a bit of money I will be looking for some finds at thrift stores as well as, Poshmark. Let’s talk about my latest purchase from Prana an ethical store I found online. I have worn all of there clothing a few times and, I love them. They are comfortable and, perfect for all of my classes I have been taking. I am really putting all of the clothing to the test by wearing them not only to workout but, in everyday life. I bought the leggings specifically so, they can be worn in everyday living and, working out. While learning about capsule wardrobes I have found that your wardrobe should be versatile. Even though your athletic wear does not count toward your 37-?? items if you are on a budget like I am it is important to recognize it and, only purchase items that you will be wearing in more than one way. Basic colors such as black, white, and nude should be the first colored items that you purchase. After having the basics you add the accessories that will make each outfit unique. I have a few more purchases to make and, they may be spread out throughout the next couple of months depending on my budget. If you are looking for ethical stores such as Prana stay tuned I have been doing a ridiculous amount of research.

Zara Goes Ethical…

Well, I think the fashion industry has heard us loud and clear! Zara has made an ethical/ sustainable collection although, they were vague on the details, this is a step up for the mainstream fashion industry!  When I saw Zara launched an ethical clothing line my first thought was, ” Is Zara just trying to make money off of the ethical trend? ” To answer my question, I would say, “Yes, they are.” We can only applaud this because Zara may be starting a trend throughout the industry which will not only help spread our ethical message but, it will also, result in helping our planet. When you think about “earth” it is larger concept that some us may not be able to grasp. But, if you look at it as your backyard it is possible to conceive helping that little part of the planet. Now, think about others’ backyards all around the country, some of which are non existent because of  excess waste, and pollution. Imagine all of these things right in your backyard; your beautifully landscaped backyard no longer exist and, you helped in the destruction of not only your backyard but, many others. Now go to your sink and, pour yourself a glass of water this is a luxury that man countries do not have. Why is it that they can’t drink their water? The fast fashion industry that we made happen is one of the largest contributors. By using dyes that are filled with chemicals we are not only being extremely wasteful but, dumping the excess dyes into the water. A large population of the world turns a blind eye to all of the horrible methods of how our clothing is made. Some are unaware of the factories/water problem and, I feel it is all of our responsibilities to take action. By expressing the need for an ethical lifestyle we move companies like Zara, toward an ethical approach to their companies. Turning many companies into ethical companies should be one the many goals we set out accomplish on our journey to helping ours’ and others’ backyards.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie

Trending: Vibram Furoshiki

Hello Loves,

I was searching online today through facebook and, I found the link to some new and, awesome vibram shoes. They fold over your feet instead of tying them up. they are so new I am only finding one review for them on YouTube. From watching the review it looks like the shoe could use a little more support/stability. I am wondering if I were to walk around int the shoe if my toe would keep slipping forward? I have not ha luck with getting vibram shoes second hand in the past because they don’t seems to fit vibram-wrap-shoesquite right. If I could actually try on a vibram shoe at the store I’m sure I could find my fit. As the vibram furoshiki is a new trend within the fitness industry is it possible companies like Nike will hop on board to make a similar shoe? The look of this shoe is much more attractive then the 5 finger vibrams which might make them more appealing to the customer. The guy that did the review said that he would be returning the shoe because of the fit and the fabric. he fabric looked extremely thin which is a little alarming when it is there to protect your foot. When I first saw them  thought they’d be great for Italy; they don’t look like sneaker and, they are stylish enough to par with jeans. Than, watching the review I decided they are probably not quite right for my feet. I went to the website to investigate further and, they were over $100 so, I wouldn’t be able to get them anyway. I shop a lot of second hand for a reason. Do you think this trend will catch on or do you think it will be a dud poll in with your comments down below.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie

Orange Harp: Ethical App

Ethical apps are getting me so excited!!

Orange Harp an app that I just discovered with some brands that are making a huge impact on our planet. From zero waste to helping people all over the country his app will make you want to be in on it. I just discovered this app last night and, it is part of my research for my ethical capsule wardrobe. Yes, I have actually been working on my ebook and, I will even be shooting some of looks in Italy! Hopefully, my brother will put on his artistic photographer hat and, help a sister out, literally. I found so many amazing companies and, there a few that stood out right away.

Indosoles- Makes shoes out of tires. Kyle the founder was on a trip in Bali when he discovered locals who were making sandals out of tires of course seeing this at as a golden opportunity he came up with indosole. All the material are vegan, toxin/chemical free and no powered machinery. Kyle’s vision is to take 1 million tires from Indonesian landfills and make them into shoes. Now, that is what I call inspiring! If you remembered I mentioned how landfills will be in future generations backyards if we don’t do anything about it. If more people are like Kyle we won’t have that problem in the future and, trash will become reused in a unique fashion. I want to purchase one pair of sneakers and, a pair of sandals for Italy. This is a company I want to purchase from now and in the future.

bureo- Three friends with a desire to see plastic gone from he ocean. The meaning behind the name bureo is : “the waves” derived from the language Mapuche. They came up with a recycling program to provide fisherman with “environmentally sound disposal points called Net Positiva. From there the team receives” recyclable and durable raw materials.” This can only be found in Chile however, Net Positiva is making its way to California. Their line consists of sustainable skateboards, water bottles, sunglasses, and utensil set. Another great way to help our oceans become free of pollution and, where the fish can roam free. I know that there are fishermen involved in this but, the company is trying to make our oceans safer by giving the fishermen somewhere to dispose of their nets with out further harming the fish. I have always wanted to learn to ride a skateboard but, unfortunately it is not on my list of items I need.

Mitscoots- It does not mention that these socks are vegan or sustainable but, the cause is extremely important.  Tim Scoot founder of Miscoots discovered that the homeless people of Austin, Texas desired socks apart from food and, water. Now some of the homeless people in their area are employed by mitscoots and, for every pair bought another pair is donated to a homeless person. This is how I would envision my company being run by people who are in need of jobs. It is my passion to help those in need of being helped. I would like my company to take aspects of each of these companies and, form an amazing environment to work in.

Right now, I can’t afford employees and, I can’t really afford myself, lol. But, I know that envisioning my company to be more of a family base who helps the environment will manifest it to be. wouldn’t you want to work in places like these that help instead of hurt the planet and, people within it. When I think about the millions of companies who are hungry for money and, have miserable employees I always wonder where did they go wrong, why won’t you build your employees up, why wouldn’t you help them succeed, why wouldn’t you have a save and, calming environment to work in. And, I do not think I will ever understand their ways of business and, I can only strive to do better one day when I have employees.

Forever Seeking Wanderlust

Ciao loves,

My new YouTube Channel is here, forever seeking wanderlust. Forever seeking wanderlust is a channel that will provide ethical fashion and, travel videos. I know there will be questions on why I decided to start a new YouTube Channel when I already have allie vLuv that I am still trying to grow. I still love my channel allie vLuv, no pun intended but, I also, have grown as a person and, some of my perspectives/ views have become stronger. With a longing to travel and a desire to join the ethical movement forever seeking wanderlust was kind of a no brainier. With a blog post series already called, forever seeking wanderlust and, an opening for the name on YouTube & Instagram it had to be fate! So, from now on all ethical/travel videos will be found on my new channel forever seeking wanderlust. That means my capsule wardrobe planning process and, finally getting my fall capsule wardrobe will be featured on forever seeking wanderlust and, of course on here, my blog. I think you all will really enjoy this new channel and, what it has to offer!! I know I am pumped and, trying to figure out how I want to edit the videos and, what videos I want to film on this channel. It is such a particular niche that I want to keep it that way. All of my other videos will be put onto allie vLuv which is board and, I love it that way. Until you all jump over to subscribe to forever seeking wanderlust I will post all my videos on allie vLuv as well so, you don’t miss out. Eventually though, forever seeking wanderlust will have it’s own platform and, no longer be featured on allie vLuv because they are two different channels. I am trying to decide if my travel videos are going to be vlogs or not because I have quite a few trips coming up business wise & as a chaperon! As you all know, I am also, saying for lovely Italia! My new video is about ethical fashion and, breaking news within the ethical fashion industry. I play my role as a news caster which is actually kind of funny and, also, touches on some serious topics. I think this will be either weekly or bi-weekly which is so much fun! It also, spreads the ethical fashion message. Here is the video enjoy and, please subscribe it would be most appreciated!

As you know I have been ranting and raving about ethical fashion and, it is for a good reason. As I have chatted about to you all, ethical fashion is important so, we have clean water, no more unfair labor, and so the landfills stay as empty as possible! April really was the month that sparked this ethical movement so, I thought I’s add it to my April Favs.

And if you all didn’t see this coming you do not read enough of my blog posts or watch enough of my YouTube Videos. I feel like I should be sponsored by Poshmark lol the amount of promotion that I do for them. I just love Poshmark and the idea that you are recycling your clothing to have other Posher’s reuse them. How My Jobs Are Ethical

Ciao Tutti,

I am so glad you all are enjoying the posts don’t forget to follow me so, you can get alerted about my latest posts. If you all want to get email notifications every time my blogs are posted visit my blog www.thatsabang.com and sign up! I am so excited to kick start the approach of summer with some challenge and, controversial topics! For those of you that don’t know I am an Amazon book seller and sell on Poshmark. Today i’m going to chat with you about why these jobs are ethical and, how they are helping the environment. Lets start with Amazon where I go to book sales and, then list the books on Amazon. There is a great little cycle for this; used books are donated to the book sale, books are purchased from book sale, books are sold on Amazon, and then the buyer either donates the books, keeps them, or lends them out to friends. Rarely do we see books being thrown out which is fabulous. Not only do book sellers keep the book industry going but, they also, keep the cycle of reusing the book. Poshmark allows you to sell clothing from your closet which means when you are done another lady can get use out of that jacket you don’t need or, those shoes you never wore. The beauty of this is that you can make a nice income while recycling your clothing to other Poshers. Both of these businesses allow me to be ethical without even trying. And my blog/YouTube Channel allows me to spread the ethical message and, informing those who do not know. I really like how this all comes full circle. It is incredible to have businesses to allow to do and, chat about what you believe in. A video discussing this topic will be posted on my YouTube Channel allie vLuv as well. I also, wanted to let you know that I have a new YouTube Channel Forever Seeking Wanderlust. Lets get the discussion going in the comments let me know what you think about ethical and, sustainable fashion.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie vLuv

Ethical Thoughts

Ethical Thoughts,

As you all know I am transitioning into a more ethical way of living and, I thought I’d talk about my transition and how I came to discover the ethical side. I know it sounds like a scene from Star Wars and going to the dark side except this time I am moving to the bright loving side of life. My journey has brought me to such an understanding and peaceful way of viewing the world.  You can say I have come to terms with life but, I am refusing to follow the everyday trend of not caring about others, the planet, or the animals. To often we disregard what is happening and make life like a gift wrapped up with a pretty little bow but, there are things happening that we need to acknowledge. The drinkable water around the world is at a rapid decrease everyday, the landfills are constantly filling, animals are dying, people are getting very little in wages working in factories. Yet, we still are shopping, shopping, shopping away without a care in the world. We have yet, to put ourselves in the place of others and, wonder how we change to help them. That is why I am vegan, and, am starting to live a more ethical life. So, what are you going to do the change the planet or do something you love. I have curated a manifestation list of what I want in life and I am putting it out to the universe. Ask and you shall receive and, that is exactly what I am doing.  One of my top “goals” is to do lots and, lots of traveling. If you have been reading my blog from the being you will know that travel has meant so much to me I love the people and, being immersed in the culture. How will I get to travel, by achieving my first goal to continue to boost my business. I do what I do because I love it so much. I love writing to you all and, talking to you on YouTube. It is amazing that one video or one blog post can make a difference in someone’s day. I know that instead of watching the news in the morning I watch YouTube videos because they inspire me to get moving and, work throughout the day. Almost every morning there is a video that I connect with and, I know that I am meant to watch YouTube. The news is important but, the access nonsense that they have on there isn’t. I try to stay updated and, out of the extra drama. My passion towards fashion has not changed only my view toward the industry has. That is why I am going to be featuring alternative ethical fashion that is perfect for your everyday and fashionable life. Tune in every week for a new post on ethical fashion or living and, stay updated on the topic. Remember to be the change that you want to be in the world and live with no regrets. Do what makes you happy and, be at peace with yourself.

As always,

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

Allie
