Tips From The Brain Of An Amazon FBA Seller

I would say being an Amazon FBA Seller is anything but, basic.  The perks of owning your own business also, comes with lots of headaches as well as, investing a fair share of your money. This is not said to discourage you but, you may be putting in forty hour weeks plus and, getting pennies if anything. Most sellers have a full time job while they are building up their Amazon business. Not having a full time job while building my Amazon business was a huge mistake on my part. Unless you have $50,000 you can invest right away and, not be hurt financially by investing this money you have some serious things to consider. If you are living on your own I strongly recommend staying at your job and, keep Amazon as a side hustle. Unfortunately, we all need money to survive and, this becomes a problem when you are starting a business that you will not make profit off of quickly. This is said for most businesses, it takes five years to actually see a profit. I am on my third year and, oh boy, is that accurate. I need many side hustles like Freelancing to make money and, most of my money gets invested back in Amazon. Frustration does not even describe how you feel when you watch all your money go back into your business and, you are silently crying on the inside. On one hand you know you are feeding your business to help you in the future and, on the other hand it’s like where did all my money go. You will 100% question yourself and, don’t expect friends and, family to be supportive at first they will think you’re literally sitting around doing nothing all day. Especially, as an FBA seller when you ship out your boxes to Amazon they won’t see your hustle all the time and, you’re working mainly from home so, defiantly keep that in mind. The mental questioning really gets to you at some points but, that’s when you realize you are building a business and, it’s not easy. If building a business was easy everyone would be doing it instead, of working for other people. You will need mental clarity so, I suggest going to the gym, local coffee shop, moving outside to work on your porch , lots of music, watching a show while working and, walks. I try to get out of the house daily because you will go stir crazy.. The re-seller community is amazing on instagram and, they are a constant score of encouragement and, tips. The amount of gold they drop everyday on instagram is amazing!

Okay, onto the actual Amazon business. You need to get approved to sell on Amazon and, you will automatically be approved to sell books but, you must look up categories in the help and, ask for approval. They are cracking down on Amazon sometimes you have to pay to be approved for a certain category and, you most likely will not be able to sell brands like Nike which,  you would have to have gotten grandfathered into. Yes, this is a pain in the ass and, can really mess with you especially if you have clothing or, shoes you are trying to sell of a really popular name brand. Clothes & Shoes must be new if, you want to sell use clothing head over to ebay or, Poshmark because Amazon would probably kick you off and, you’d need to wait six months to get back on. Amazon will not hesitate to ban you if, you try to sell a restricted item etc. so, you need to make sure you are unrestricted before you even try to sell in a category other than books. Oh, and you are restricted from selling collectible books you have to get unrestricted in this category or, you books will be sitting collecting dust. You have to get unrestricted in DVDs, VHS, etc.. yup, they restrict you in basically everything. And, for most of these items you must have wholesale invoice they don’t except store receipts so yea, you may be restricted for awhile until you have a solid wholesaler that you purchase from.  Being an FBA seller is challenging but, can be worth it especially with ROI for books!

Things I forgot to consider when pricing my items are the fees that I will be taking on when selling this specific item. You have the fee for Amazon about $49.95/mo. Scanpower $69.95/mo. if you use it regularly every month I have been having to pay $0 which, means I need to get more books haha ( Insert monkey with hands over the eyes), $228 for AsellerTool/6months, the shipping fee for the items and, the percentage Amazon takes plus, the cost of the item. Yeah, it is a bit much and, can be a bit frustrating to have all these fees you are paying for. You also, need the scanners to actually figure how much the cost of the item is; see this link for a detailed explanation

( http://thatsabang.com/?p=511    ). This is why it has taken me three years to kind of catch up with my business because in equipment I’ve spent over $1,044 in equipment. To some people that is not a lot of money to me that took awhile to pay off plus, ink, paper, printer ( I recently got a new one a laser printer) and, the labels for the dymo label printer ( thank goodness this does not need ink!). Now take the fees that you pay for the year $599.4 (Amazon), $839.40 ( ScanPower), ASellertool ( $456) = $1,894.8 a year in just fees. This does not include the whammy of the storage fee that you get hit with if you items are over 365 days old I think this happens twice a year. You really have to keep up with this because you could spend even more money keeping your inventory at Amazon instead of sending it back to you. Unfortunately, this hit me kind of hard this year and, everytime UPS came with boxes and, boxes of books my heart sank and, I had mini panic attacks ( I still live with my parents for the time being and, they were not pleased to have the boxes in their house but, I don’t think they realized how displeased I was to have to pay to ship books/items sent back to me haha). This is why I emphasize knowing what categories you can sell in because sometimes they just hit you with sorry, you are now restricted in that category, ( learn from my mistakes!).  I will also, go into how important rank is in a minute so, hold on. You need to keep all these fees in mind when you’re pricing your item but, you also have to keep your pricing competitive.

Some FBA Sellers will make you very, very angry because the book could be worth $40 and, they’ll have it for $10. This happens so much it’s incredible how annoying some of the sellers are and, I don’t understand because they are barely making any money if any. Price wisely as, you don’t want to piss off other sellers but, you also, don’t want to price too high. Here is what I would normally do for very good or, good the new price would get slashed in half and, that’s how much I would price it at. If it’s ex-library or, acceptable condition I divide the price by 3. I will give you an example below because it sounds more complicated than it is.

Okay, so here is an example of a book that I have and, this is where you wil get 100% frustrated. This ranking is extremely good at over 800,000. That means for every 800,00 books purchased this book sells. The lower the rank the better! Now, you see that new the price is around $74 and, normally I would price my book used good or used very good at about $35. But, instead we have sellers who don’t understand the value of the book and, they priced it in the $9-$11 range. I don’t know who they think they are helping but, it’s not themselves… Right now, to make any money off of a book the lowest you can have it at is $10 becuase the fees went up as they do every year. Here is a prime example of how you should not price your books as a FBA Seller. FBA Seller’s are paying a fee for a reason; there are storage fees but, it’s also, to have Amazon Prime ( Two Day free shipping), available to your sellers. You can also, look at camel, camel, camel to see how often the item or book sells and, the range of prices they sell for. Okay, now into rank.. Oh my, rank can be a big problem because you want the lowest rank possible for a quick turnover. But, on the other hand you can luck out and, get a high ranking book that sells in a couple of months.. Ranking gives me a headache because I do gamble sometimes for books that I will make a large profit on and, the ranking is very high. In my experience it is not worth it look for low ranks because you want the fastest turn over as possible especially, when you are just starting out. Do not ignore the rank! Yes, when you are at a book sale you have to be able to look at the rank and, calculation of how much you will make off of the book in a matter of seconds. Most sellers know what their criteria is and, have their scanners set to beep if the book meets these standards. I personally don’t do this because I may miss a book that I can make a quick buck off of. It’s really up to the seller as, it is their preference.

I hope this helps you kind of get an idea what is like to be an FBA Seller and, I will be posting more so, stay tuned for those posts.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie

Just Start Scanning

Hello Loves,

If you haven’t read my article on scanners to buy books and, other items I will put a link below. But, for those of you that have read it this article is about what you want to scan. Before we begin I am not an expert but, I will save you some wasted time and, money!

So, what should you scan?

  • Textbooks, when it is textbook season you will have books literally flying off the shelves remember to take in account how much it will cost to ship the book, the cost of the book and, you want the ranking to be as low as possible 50 or less if they even have that to around 1.5 million. The lower the more frequent it will sell. Make sure the textbook is worth selling but, if it is congrats!
  • Everyone has their niche art books, history etc.. we like foreign it sells pretty well! Take the same advice into play when fining the right ones to sell on Amazon.
  • Non-fiction the same rules apply

Find out what works best for your company make sure you go in with a bit of a business plan. Your scanner is your best friend and, you may make a few mistakes but, that’s the fun of it; because once you score a big sale you will be addicted! Scan away, list, ship and, let the sales begin!

Find out what you will need to bring with you to the book sale in the next article. If you have more questions leave them below in the comments.

Have an enlightening and adventures day,

The Entrepreneur Life

,Follow my entrepreneur life on my facebook page The Entrepreneur Life. Here is my latest post I hope you all enjoy and, now I really am going to bed…

https://www.facebook.com/groups/theemtreprenuerlife/

It is so late I really need to got to bed but, I wanted to share with you where I am at for all my businesses in 2017. I just started selling on ebay and, my goal is to have about 300 items listed every week in 2017 which, is going to be a challenge but, one I am ready to work very hard for. My ebay isn’t getting too much attention but, with hard work, more listings and, learning I am hoping to increase my watchers to at least 20 for now but, I hope to have them in the hundreds or thousands by the end of 2017. Poshmark has been moving like a snail and, I am trying to work from a new angle but, I am not sure why I haven’t been getting many bites even with my ongoing promotion. Poshmark has been a bit of an enigma that I am determined to solve. Amazon continues to grow and, I must feed it inventory every week or I can kiss my chances of making $3,000 a week goodbye. I understand how many products I need to sell in order to make close to a certain amount of money. I am still figuring out Amazon and, we are by no means making money off of it at the moment but, that is because I don’t have thousands of dollars to invest in Amazon. I am starting to focus back up on my blog and, trying to make money off of that because I think it is entirely possible. I have different topics I will be focusing on in order to gain more followers and, companies that want to run ads on my blog. YouTube although, I am absolutely in love with making videos I do not think I will be able to make money off of my channel but, I will continue to produce videos because I do have 51 fabulous followers and, I just enjoy it so much! Yes, there is more… I am continuing to do Freelance jobs because I need to make money and, enjoy writing for the companies. Freelance is really where I am bringing money in and, my plan is to make about $1,000 a month with Freelance which will require a lot of work. I think I covered everything haha… I really do work very hard and, I know it will pay off in the long run. It does deprive me a bit of a social life but, it is hard to have a social life without making money right? It is funny with all of these jobs I always here why don’t you get a part time job…. Well, although, I may not be making enough money to live on at the moment if I continue to work extremely hard it will pay off. I would not do will in a 9-5 job I am a creative person, explorer, boundary pusher who is an entrepreneur. This is my life welcome to it…

Fitness Update & Cleaning Up My Eating

Hello Loves,

I have been pursuing my fitness journey for some time now. I have been going to the gym and, working out at home. I have slacked a bit on working out at home which is something I am trying to get together. I just cleaned my beautiful room so, I will be able to do a lot more workouts. I am thinking that I will put together a little food plan for myself to have my meals all ready and, switch up the workouts every week. I think February is when I will start my swimming back up which will be a process and, I will probably start small like can I swim straight for 5 minutes which sounds ridiculous but, it will take me awhile to build my swimming stamina back up. Today will be my planning day since I got a lot accomplished over this weekend which, allows me the time to plan a bit. I have been resting quite a bit this weekend as well because I felt that I needed. It is also, hard to get sleep sometimes when pet sitting so, I would wake up let the dog out feed it and, then sleep a little more. Below is a video I did which shows a workout I have been doing and, a body fitness update. I hope you all enjoy it please let me know if you have any topics you want to discuss in the comments below. Planning I go…

Is Gilmore Girls Returning

Oy With The Poodles already,

If you are a true Gilmore Girls fan you should understand that phrase above. But, seriously is Netflix trying to tease the fans with another season of Gilmore Girls with this tweet:

This is in reference to Apirl’s D.N.A test she conducted to find out if Luke was her father. Honestly, I think the father is Logan who makes the most sense especially according to the timeline. People are so set on Jess being the father however, Amy Sherman Palladino said that they were basing Rory’s story off of Lori Leis. It would make sense the Logan would be the father because he is most like Christopher Rory’s dad. Watching back the seasons of Gilmore Girls as an adult I actually liked Logan a lot more for Rory and, I think he was needed for her to grow as a person. Now, I think it is sad the way she is portrayed because I was really routing for Rory to be a journalist working in the middle east or on the presidential campaign. I was also, hoping she was in a stable relationship but, to throw her into no job and, no stable relationship it just didn’t really click with how Rory was. I do understand struggling in life as most of us do but, it seemed a little far fetched that she would not have an amazing journalistic career by her thirties. I did understand that they did tie in that she was so lost that she finally sat down and, wrote a book. It was clever and, I do like that Rory ended up at the Stars Hallow gazette. Boy did they leave us with a whammy when they decided to make Rory pregnant.  Here’s how I think it is going to go down, Logan is the father of the child but, Rory ends up with Jess because lets face it they have the best chemistry. But, if she doesn’t end up with Jess I hope it is Logan or someone her character really connects with. I think if Logan was the one they would have already been married. Anyway, fans are freaking out over this tweet and, there are so many debates on who the father is. In case you don’t remember who they guy on the right is don’t worry you are not alone. To the right is Paul, Rory’s boyfriend of two years she keeps forgetting about and, forgetting to break up with. We can all feel sorry for Paul but, I thought he was totally misplaced as Rory’s boyfriend… Anyway, she was cheating on him with Logan her old boyfriend from college. The random middle guy is one that is mentioned in the new series when Rory freaks out because she has a one night stand with a guy dressed up in a wookiee costume. Those are the three possibilities that we know of.. There is a possibility with Jess but, we simply don’t know. We shall see if Netflix sends out that they are releasing more of the series. I said as soon as it was over how smart are they for leaving a cliff hanger and, it makes it easier to continue the series. I do not know how many more seasons the cast want to carry on with this new Gilmore Girls series but, I hope it is episode by episode instead of season it feels a bit disconnected. I also, see that replaced Triston with another actor it is a shame that the original actor did not want to take part (p.s. we all noticed it wasn’t the original Triston). It would be interesting if they brought him back and, played a bigger role in Rory’s life I think they would have done well together if his character didn’t leave the show. It’s actually apropos that Rory ends up with Logan for most of the series of Gilmore Girls because he was very similar to Triston who she really ended up liking. What did you all think about the tweet and, new Gilmore Girls series?

Nothing Fits Why….

Hello Loves,

So, the other day I was searching and, searching for affordable ethical clothing that will fit me and, honestly there is not much. I think I chatted with you all about not really finding to much at thrift stores that fit my size and, that 90% of my wardrobe is from Poshmark; I was not joking if you ask my friends and, family whenever anyone asks, “where did you get that,” I always respond, “Poshmark.” I absolutely love Poshmark but, sometimes I get really frustrated and, just want clothing that fits well on me. I don’t think it is to much to ask for clothes that fit, especially my chest. I’m sure most of you can relate when it comes to romper, jumpsuits, suits etc. There is always something wrong with a piece of clothing that just doesn’t fit quite right. Now, I am not an expert at sewing, in fact, you could call me a beginner but, I am determined to make myself some clothes that fit really well. I took pictures of items I liked that I want in my wardrobe fitted to my size. I know I’m not going to be able to whip up a dress right away; I do plan on practicing but, I am on a mission to get fabric I love that is ethical and, start sewing away. I do not know how long it will take me but, I’d like to have 10 summer outfits by June. It may be a bit presumptuous however, I would really like some clothing that fits to perfection. I have sewn before and, have made a few pieces but, nothing to this extent without the supervision of a fashion professor. This has been a long time coming especially now that I am a supporter of ethical fashion. I would like ten outfits that are casual/one’s I can wear out, 3 workout outfits and, 3 bathing suits. I will have to figure out how to make all of these things, where I can get fabric and, what time span I am looking at. I made a romper in a 2 hour and 45 minute class over about 13 weeks .  I was done early and, that is because I had an amazing lady next to me who sewed in high school and, she helped me figure out the pattern and, how to sew some of the pieces together. I was also, determined to get it done. That is less then 39 hours of work so, if I can get one piece done a week it will take 16 weeks to accomplish a ten piece summer collection. If I start at the end of January I should be done by end of second week of May. I have to purchase all fabric etc.. which can be very pricey but, it is custom made which could cost thousands of dollars and, I think it will be worth it as long as the pieces are wearable… I am also, on my way to losing weight and, I don’t want there to be a problem that all the clothing is too big so, I will have to see if a tailor or I will be able to take in the clothing. I am so excited/nervous to accomplish this. Please let me know if you would like a series about making clothing without really knowing everything about sewing. I am sure I will learn a lot. If you have any tips please let me know in the comments below. I think I will talk about this on my YouTube Channel as well so, if like to watch videos instead of reading I will leave my channel link below. If you want to follow my progress through instagram you can on @foreverseekingwanderlust and @allievluv.

Starting An Amazon FBA Business

Ciao Tutti,

I have now been on Amazon for over two years almost, three and, my goodness have I learned a lot! Like everything you do you need a plan, follow through and, goals. Amazon FBA took a little time to adjust to but, now I am going to give you the tips and, tricks I have learned. Stay tuned for the next post where I give you the insight on what you need to purchase to begin on Amazon. If you are selling more than 40 products a month Amazon FBA is where you will want your business to be otherwise Merchant Fulfillment will not be making you money. The other down side to merchant fulfillment is that, you have to store all your items in your home; yikes, can that really eat up your house space quickly! With Fulfillment By Amazon or FBA you will be storing and, shipping all of your items to an Amazon Warehouse. Just to forewarn you that the items with disperse into different shipments so, it may take you longer to fill one shipment because, news flash it is not all going to one Amazon warehouse. This can get a bit irritating but, do not let it discourage you. Now that you are in the mindset of starting an Amazon FBA business you will need to come up with a business plan. Unlike other businesses Amazon can be a bit unpredictable about where you are purchasing from and, I still do not have a clear indicator of what is selling best.

To Start On Amazon:

  • Amazon Seller Central Account $39.99/mo.
  • Amazon Storage Fees: These fees will be changing as of Feb/March 2017 they are increasing                                  Monthly Inventory Storage Fee
    Month Standard-Size Oversize
January – October $0.54 per cubic foot $0.43 per cubic foot
November – December $2.25 per cubic foot $1.15 per cubic foot
  • Initial Cost Of All electronics You Will Need( I will be doing a separate post)
  • ScanPower or wherever you chose to list your items on: for two devices $69.95/mo. ASellerTool is what we use over the season $285 6 mo. for two devices
  • Money for start up to purchase books and items so far, I have spent about $9,000 over the past almost three years they recommend that you have at least $50,000 to spend on all your products to begin with but, I do not have they kind of money

Let’s say you need to purchase about $1,000 worth of inventory a month plus your other expenses you will need $1,109.94/mo. at least once you start shipping products you will also, being paying storage fees.

Ok, so where do you begin now that you are set up and, ready to go? Book sales, retail arbitrage, thrift stores, estate sales and, garage sales. You can also, ask you local library or the book sales if you can purchase all the books they are going to giveaway at .30/lb. That way, they are still making money and, so are you!

Book Sales: They are sales that you go to, to scan the books and, if they are worth purchasing you buy them. Most book sales only deal in cash so, go prepared. You will want to hit up all the book sales possible and, really pay attention to what is selling. Forget the non-fiction sections you do not make any money from them. Be polite at the book sales, bring your own bags and, check ahead to see if you are allowed to scan. Personally, I do not go to the book sales that don’t let you scan but, some really high rollers will still go and, just scan until someone tells them they are not allowed to. They are usually set up in schools, gyms or, libraries and, the ones that are big are really big! We go to two large sales that we stay for two days at a hotel. Of course, if you are going to stay in a hotel you will really need to hustle as you need to make enough to pay for the hotel plus the cost of the trip and, much more. Let me break it down for you

Hotel: $150/night

Gas: $18.24 roughly that is for a 2 hour drive

Food: $60 at $10 a meal

Cost Of Trip: $228.24

You would want to make 20 times that amount roughly

$4,564.80- At .50 you would need to buy 200 plus books most of them will be $2-.25 so,  that figure would probably be a little less but, you catch my drift I hope.

Normally, we will buy 600 books at a sale and, let’s say they average at making $20 a book you will have $12,000 worth of inventory in books. It all depends so, go with what you can afford. If you are able to get those 9,000 books at $20 a book you are looking at some crazy inventory $180,000. We have yet to get 1,000 books at a sale but, we are getting more efficient which means we will be quicker and, therefore, get more books.

You will be going to this site to find book sales: http://www.booksalefinder.com/

Once you have made a schedule and, budget for how much you will be spending at the book sale it is time to head out.

You are looking to cut corners anywhere you go and, if your budget is $100 per book sale you will be going on box/bag day where it is  $10/box and, $5/bag. They will provide you with boxes and, bags so, you do not need your own. However, it is easier to have your own bags like these:

I use the bags and, then strategically pack the boxes so, I can get the most bang for my buck. Bring a sheet with you that you can put over each bag so, no one mistakes your items as part of the sale. Scan away and, be polite there is no reason for you to be rude it does not help your rep. when attending other book sales. Be patient when checking out the volunteers may be unfriendly but, keep a smile and, please and, thank you goes a long way. If you go to a preview sale you will be paying $10 and up plus premium prices for the books and, for the most part sellers leave lots of great stuff so, don’t let it bum you out.

Have a snack bag with water and, lunch/snacks. You will not have time to go out and, have lunch and, this will save you quite a bit of water. Take a break of 20 min. find a place to sit and, have your lunch. If you are at a sale for 8 hours or more it is hard to walk away but, trust me you need at least two breaks of five minutes and, a 20 minute lunch break. Your eyes may get tired and, you need quite a bit of stamina to last the whole 8 hours or more of, mostly standing. Wear comfortable sneakers, have short sleeves on and, bring a comfortable sweater. The place can be freezing one minute and, you could be sweating the next. You will need a descent sized vehicle and, need to be able to lift heavy boxes. If there are two of you that is perfect because there is a lot of ground to cover and, even with both of you, you will not be able to cover 25% if it is a large sale. Be prepared to work very long hours.. This is not a scam and, it will not get you rich overnight you have to work for it.

After the sale you will list the books and, then ship them out to Amazon. I will explain in this series about how I can afford to be an FBA Seller, where I work, how to ship the books, where to purchase inventory, finding a niche and, much more. There will be a bundle of posts containing loads of info coming your way so, be sure to look out for it. If you have questions leave them below or Tweet me @thatsabang! If you have loads of questions I will be happy to do a live YouTube video answering your questions so, comment away. As always, this is from my experience and, it is meant to help you. There are FBA Sellers who have been selling over five-ten years and, I will be linking videos for you to watch as well.

Amazon Lending A Helping Hand

Ciao Tutti,

If you aren’t already sucked into the Facebook vortex of videos and, shopping on Amazon then you must not be on the internet that often. Today has been a day of a multitude of news and, just when you think you have writers block there is always something popping up in the hope you will write about it. This video deserves as much attention as it can get! Monika is a co-owner of a women’s shoe company that she develop in America. She came to America to concur her dream and, she did. While walking down the street she saw a homeless man with a sign saying, ” I need shoes.” When she went back he was no longer there and, that is when she came up with the give back box idea. She is now working with be companies such as, Amazon that are teaming up to send these boxes to charities. the great thing is that you do not have to pay anything you are merely donating clothing, shoes, items you no longer need! You get a free shipping label and, off they go. When you receive an Amazon box you usually chuck it in the trash, after taking out what your purchased. Well, that is not helping our landfills and, when you send your give back box to the charity of your choice, they will recycle all of there boxes. It is great that you will be giving back and, no longer be polluting our world! I would say, it is a win, win! This holiday season when you receive new items of clothing etc. take time to look through your wardrobe and, see if any older pieces could use a new home.

Amazon Raises FBA Fees

Ciao Tutti,

Amazon just released there fee changes for 2017 and, Amazon FBA sellers are freaking out… Now, it does change a few things when it comes to selling as an FBA seller but, they change their fees every year. Amazon is trying to weed out the FBA sellers that aren’t committed to really selling on Amazon and, honestly I couldn’t be happier. Although, I am not that thrilled about the fees which, I don’t think any seller is, it just changes how I will be selling on Amazon. Instead of having lower priced books I will have to stay within $10-$15 at the lowest instead of $6-$8 at my lowest. For some reason this is not registering for other sellers and, they are fed up with Amazon claiming they will go switch to ebay. I have been doing quite a bit of research and, ebay is not a bad place to sell although, I haven’t done enough research to really sell on ebay. I have tried to sell on ebay and, it was a bit of a bust so, research is necessary to sell at least for me. I also, need a niche when selling on ebay. It is a good idea not put all your money into one item or one place it should be spread out in case it does not work out. I have been only selling on Amazon FBA for two years seriously. I have a business plan set up for each year which, tells me how much I need to purchase of each category and, how much money I will need each month to do so. With not having a large amount it is quite difficult to accomplish but, I will talk about how I semi-support myself while trying to build up my Amazon sales in another blog post.   So, my strategy this year will be slightly different more expensive books for full price book sale, half price will be a little cheaper and, box day will be $10 books instead of $5-$8 books. Adjusting with the price change that happens every year is important especially with gas changes etc. Just like we have to adjust to the economy so do our businesses. So, if you are an FBA seller take a breath and, adjust as needed just like every year especially if you want to continue on with your business.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

Boss Lady

Hello Loves,

You all know I have been chatting with you about my many business ventures and, how to really make money blogging. I am still in the learning stages but, I am putting my heart and soul into every venture that I set out to take on. I have learned that I so need to make a calendar for myself and, schedule out posts throughout the month, when I’m shipping out products for Amazon; YouTube Videos to be shot, Freelance jobs, Pet Sitting… You’d think I’d be rolling in the dough from all these jobs.. I have invested quite a bit of my own money into my Amazon business and, in order for it to reach the amount of sales I want it to reach I need 600-1,000 books a month and, somehow only spend $300 a month. I mean, it is possibly but, that is an extra $300 a month I need to come up with. Yikes, so much money going out and, not much coming in. But, just as I had said in a previous post we need to invest in our” health” just like in this case I need to invest in my future. I am already thinking about my 401K, Investments, Retirement, and future projects to invest in. I take all of these things extremely seriously and, moving into my mid twenties I want to be in a comfortable position. At 25 years old I don’t want to be living pay check to pay check which is why I am putting the time in now. I was able to save enough money to invest in my first two businesses, learn from them and, then able to invest in my Amazon business today. Researching and, learning are super important when it comes to Amazon and, all of my other business ventures. Recently I was watching a YouTube video on a man my age who is making $10,000,000 a year with Amazon and, consulting. He said he got $50,000 in investment for his Amazon and, it just grew expediently. To turn $50,000 investment into millions of dollars is not only impressive, it is smart. Now being only 22 years old I have zero collateral to be able to get this kind of money for an investment. I thought I would start out smaller with my goal but, to make it really happen and, blow my goals away, I will need to implement what I learned. Right now I am trying to get as many Freelance jobs as possible within my field and, try to make an extra $1,000 a month. With the $1,000 a month I would set aside $400 books, $40 phone, $30 gym, $200 NZ trip, $100 groceries, $200 savings, $30 spending money. You may think $1,000 isn’t much money but, to me it is amazing because it keeps my business and, life going. If you noticed I don’t have apartment expenses and, that is because  I am still living with my parents I also, do not own a car. I am in the middle of studying for permit/license yes, I realize I am old and, should have all of that already there is a short story to go along with that but, basically time got away from me. I have been putting time in to study for the permit so I’m hoping by the end of December I will be good to go to take the test. Once I have a license and, car it will open up more expenses but, it will also, give me the ability to travel to book sales and, be able to dog walk etc… But, back to the point you have to make this all happen for yourself and, so do I. My goal is to be solely reliant on myself and, nobody else. Like one of my favorite quotes says, “Your attention please , no one is coming to save you. This life of yours is 100% your responsibility.”

It is so true, you are responsible for you and looking out for yourself. 20 years down the road you don’t want to regret not giving yourself a solid platform for yourself. I am still planning on doing a woofing trip to New Zealand because I’m young and, I want to travel! Skys the limits because the only one in the way is yourself so, take control of you and, build a cushion for yourself, become a boss lady or gentlemen.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie
