You’ve Graduated Now What

Hello Loves,
It’s the season of the cap and, gown! Congratulations to those of you that have graduated, I know you’ve had some struggles whether, it was adjusting to college life, mind boggling studying or, just getting used to the food there was always something. Now that you are done with college people are probably asking what are you going to do
with the rest of your life? And, you probably have a good idea but, in your head you’re like chill out I just finished school. Now begins the pressure to get a “real job” and pay off those student loans. If you are one of the lucky ones that got a job offer right out of school that is amazing! Maybe you are looking to take some time off an, travel before you jump back into working. I got inspired to create the video below by a Forbes article I read.

They listed Albania as the cheapest place to travel in 2017 and, I thought, ” Sweet, I’m gonna research for my readers.” So, as the researching blogger I am, I found out how much it would cost you all to travel to Albania for a week. Hint, the most expensive part was the plane ticket… If you live in Europe this should be a lot cheaper than those of us located in the U.S.  I also, gave you places that I love to use when researching places to stay and, cheapest flights. I hope you all enjoy!

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie

Here are my favorite gems for traveling, saving money and, so much more!

Airbnb: This is my favorite way to travel. While in Italy we saved so much money using Airbnb and stayed in an amzing apartment. Airbnb is much cheaper than a hotel and, you can filter what you need for your trip. You can get an entire house or, a room in a house. It’s customized to your needs.

How Most Bloggers Go From Making $0 To Making Some Cash As A Blog : Blogging can be a very challenging experience and, I have been working very hard to understand what I need to go from $0 to $50,000 plus a year. I’ve learned a lot has to do with affilate links and, marketing. It can get a bit confusing all you can do is research and, continue to learn.

Ibotta: Clip coupons no more! This app has all the coupons you want minus the many hours of coupon clipping. I even saw 1% off ebay! Ibotta helps you save money on groceries, mobile shopping, travel and, so much more! You also get $10 just for signing up through my account.

Ebates: Get the best deals on Ebates while collecting money! Invite friends and, get $5 bonus for each friend that signs up. Who doesn’t love building up cash to shop!

Swagbucks: Earn Swagbuck for shopping or, taking surveys. Get rewards for shopping.

Italy under $1,100

Ciao Tutti,

I recently visited beautiful Italia, I got to see a few different cities and, I absolutely fell in love with Venice. I can not imagine how it would look in the summer but, even in the fall it is breathtaking. As you all know I do not have a steady income at the moment and, need to be frugal with my money. If you have been following my blog for three year you will know I have gone on and, on about how much I wanted to go. I wrote about it quite a few times and, we finally made it  happen. I went with my brother and, a friend of ours. We went for 10 days most of the time in Regello we also, went to Lucca , Florence and, spent two days in Venice. The airbnb in Venice was great we were in the older part of Venice with cobble streets and, little alleyways. We enjoyed being out of the center but, I will do an entire post on the airbnb I did a whole tour that will be on my YouTube Channel. How much did I have before I went? How did I save for Italy? Where did we stay? The plane ticket was paid for over the summer with a few pet sitting jobs so, I did not have to worry about that. I had put away money in my savings mainly from pet sitting. I made sure that I was careful with my money over the summer and, I made sure to keep tossing some money into my savings account until it reached my desired amount. If you have a steady income it should be a lot easier for you to set out a budget and, put away each month for your desired vacation.

How did I only spend $300-$350 in Italy? Before, we get into all that one big tip and, you are going to thank me use the Italian atm to take money out of your debit account. You will get hit with a few but, it is nothing compared to exchanging your money which is pointless unless you are exchanging thousands of dollars and, be prepared to lose half because there fee is 40-50%, ouch! Save yourself the frustration of losing all your money… Make sure you alert your bank and, the card company. You need to let them know how much you pan to take out everyday and, how long you will be away. Do not get stuck with a useless card. Our accommodations were free because my brother had volunteered at the place two six month stents a few years ago. We ended up leaving fifty euro each as a donation. In Venice we paid $37 each night per person so, I paid that before I left $74 and, then the 3 euro in taxes each when we left. We ate out four nights out of 10 and, ate for free where we were staying we also, had breakfast there over 8 days and, some lunches. This helped a great deal leaving us with paying a little bit for food and, spending most money on transportation. We did buy a cheese platter and, olive oil as birthday/Christmas presents but, we planned that in advance and that is included in the $300-$350 that were spent. I was extremely frugal with my money and, decided not to get anything extra as, I thought the memories were priceless. A few tips, if you know someone in Italy or you can drive it is worth it if you are planning to go to somewhere like Venice. A train ticket is more expensive compared to the tolls and, paid parking to store your car. With four of us I think it totaled to $100 split four ways is $25. We saved over three hundred-four hundred dollars. In Venice take the water buses not, the water taxis they are much more expensive. Take trains when traveling to places like Florence if they are close it is pretty inexpensive. Obviously, the further you are away the more expensive it is going to the place. Trains are usually the preferred form of transportation in Italy. I suggest signing up to volunteer places with organizations such as, WOOFING. They will allow you to work in trade for free food and, stay. Hostiles are preferred and, common among younger travelers who do not have a great deal of money. Going there with a plan is essential to saving your money and, hopefully will allow you travel to many destinations. I am thinking about W.O.O.F.I.N.G. in New Zealand so, we shall see what the future holds in regards to that. Next I’m going to be telling you how I saved for NZ haha. Look out for the Italian travel blogs because they are coming. I hope you are all enjoying my new series Frugal Shopper and, bringing back Holiday Hunny! What exciting times we live in!

Hav an enlightening and adventurous day,

Real Estate Junkie

It seems “Virginia Is For Lovers,” at least when it comes to me and their real estate. This week is focused on affordable housing, because, lets face it, most of us are not millionaires. The house you are about to see has a quirky exterior with a gem of an interior. The inside of the house was not as I expected it to be at all; it is modern, open, with great lighting. This house is a perfect one to own given its unique qualities.

These 3 bedrooms’ and, 3 baths’ were meant for outdoor lovers’ who will drive their boat in the marinas. It is placed on 2 acres with a community pooled just around the corner. The plus to a community pool is that you don’t have to deal with the maintenance of your own pool, which gives you much more time for that boat of yours. Your porch is in need of some sweet tea and lounging of course, done by you. I know porches always get me so, I thought I’d include something from the original listing, “12 x 15 Screened Porch with lovely natural views over the headwaters.” One patio and, an enclosed porch is amazing especially if you want to have family over for a big dinner outdoors and, don’t want to get eaten up by bugs.

This is one of my favorite rooms because it not only, has some of the coolest doors but, it has a fireplace. A fireplace is so important for a home, at least for me, because it gives it an extra cozy feeling. The house has creek views, a master bedroom with a walk-in closet, storage space, and a car port. If a garage is important to you, I don’t see why you couldn’t build one especially with 2 acres.

The kitchen area is serene and, it seems to open onto the back screened in porch. I enjoy when a kitchen has space for bar stools as well as, a little table for your family to enjoy their meal although, I would be on the patio in the summer and, by the fireplace in the winter but, that’s just my preference.

I thought for the last photo I would show the only picture they include out of the three bedrooms. I would have to see all of the bedrooms to compare but, I enjoy this space as it is one of the most important spaces. My bedroom is my space to work, wind down, and curl up with a book so, I think your connection and vibes should be strong when choosing your space. If you do not have good vibes and, purchase a home there will always be something not right with it, remember to go with your gut.

Travelers And Why Society Is Holding Us Back

By now I’m sure you know that I view life in a very different way then others. I have no intention of settling down any time soon and am not settling for a life of grief, burden, stress, and worry. Actually, you could take away all electronics and, I would be perfectly fine although, I would miss writing my blog posts and, filming for my YouTube Channel. I miss finding everyday of life an adventure and, that is were I am headed with my life. I want excitement, adventure, and most importantly fun! I don’t want to bored by everyday conversation but, actually talk to people who are filled with life. You have been probably told, “get serious and, figure out where you want you life to be.” Yes, in fact that is probably why you went to college and are most likely in a shit-ton of debt… I went to a community college and was lucky enough to get financial aid, scholarship money, and have my parents pay the leftover expenses. I did well and maintained a 3.9-3.75 GPA at Brookdale which is why I was able to get some scholarship money. I was not the smartest student in the room but, I was one of the most determined. When one professor asked who wanted to be a (a word relating to global sensation right now I am having word block) I was one of two students to raise my hand. I thought wow we have the opportunity to one day become a global sensation and, I was one of two people who wanted that. I have always wanted to have the freedom of owning my own business but, it also becomes a great responsibility if you are the boss of others. I don’t know if I will end up owning a company or creating my own products but, I sure hope I am. Well, I have since graduated with an associate’s degree in fashion merchandising. Now, I am blogging, making YouTube videos editing them, have my Poshmark closet, an FBA seller on Amazon, and a freelancer. Now, you think that would be enough jobs for society but, nope. I either get an expression simulating ” you are going to go nowhere with this and, eventually will need to get a “real” job or you get the, ” that sounds like a really cool job and, a million questions.” I guess the only way to be taken serious is to start making a boat load of money and, then just travel when I want. I mean wouldn’t that be the logical choice or would me buying a large mansion prove that I have “made it” in society’s eyes. Guess what, I am not looking for “society’s” approval for how I have chosen to live my life. I am no longer looking through a glass window as an observer, I no longer want to stand aside, I want to live. I am looking to live. Most of us are looking to live and experience life but, are too afraid to do what is necessary to get there. This year I am looking to make $1,000/month save $500 and the rest for traveling! I want to live as many places as possible to see if I actually like it! No, I don’t want to randomly move somewhere permanently and decide I hate where I am living. I do know that I am not a fan of winter but, I want to continue Amazon so, I will have to be in NJ from January-October. Yes, that only gives me three months to live somewhere else and, I will not avoid all the NJ cold weather; I’m ok with that as long as I have the experience of living different places three months out of the year. It is similar to a vacation but, it is also, important to me so, I end up living somewhere I love and thrive in. Right now I have nothing tying me down except, not having enough money… When I think about it, it’s not a problem because if I work harder on my Blog, YouTube Channel, Poshmark, and Amazon I have no doubt that I can make it happen! My first goal is Italy, I have talked about Italy for years but, this time I am serious. My brother is going back in November and, I want to go and, travel for two weeks. That is the first place to save up for the plane ticket, food, some extra travel costs and, to stay somewhere. He volunteers at a Place called Casa Cares’ so, as long as I volunteer there I can get food and, a room for free! I think it is the perfect place to set my eyes on. So, why do we let society hold us back from what we truly want to do?

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,
