The Truth About Blogging

Hello Loves,

I thought I’d chat with you all on blogging and, what it really takes. I am still not making money off of blogging which, is partly due to my lack of posts. If you have never blogged in your life then you may not understand the demand that comes with blogging. You must have a boatload of posts ready to be launched every month. This isn’t to scare you or overwhelm you but, this is just the clear facts. A blog is a lot of work and, the benefits may not be seen for years.

You also, have to dedicate your time to have at least seven posts ready a week. Most blogs will have two to three posts a day. That is 21 posts a weeks and 84 posts a month. Lets say it takes about two hours to write a blog post, add photos, add links and, make your cover photo that means an average blogger would need to devote 42 hours a week to their blog if they are posting 21 times a week. Don’t know if you caught that but, that is 2 hours over a normal 9-5 job… So, if anyone ever tells you that blogging isn’t a real job, that is a laughable statement. Okay, lets say you have those 42 hours now you have to add research, marketing and social media. Add about 10 to 15 more hours to that.

Well blogging may not be as easy as it looks.. Most blogs have people that write for them so, sometimes the original blogger isn’t even writing any content. I personally don’t want anyone else writing on my blog because I made it for a reason. Not having people create content for you is probably not the best business move because I can easily get burnt out or, not be able to turn over enough content. Although, I want to make money off of my blog I don’t want to lose the voice I have on the blog. The reason I created the blog was for a creative outlet. I am learning so much from reading other blogs and just, dedicating more time to creating content.

How Bloggers Make Their Money:

~Affiliate Links

~ Ads

~ Other Jobs

Why Did I Start Blogging:

For The love of writing and hoping others would enjoy my voice through my posts

Has It Been Difficult To Blog:

I would say it hasn’t been easy there are may things you need to research, discover and, test. You are running your own business and, there is a lot of time that goes into and, so far no reward money wise.

What Does A Blog Entail:

  • Lots and lots of good/interesting content
  • a few niche posts- mixed in with
  • Ads
  • Affilate Links
  • Loads Of Time
  • A Schedule To Write
  • A Schedule To Promote Your Blog Posts
  • An engaging Audience
  • Passion for What You’re Doing
  • Patience For Not Succeeding Right Away
  • Basics- Interenet, Picmonkey, Pictures, Some To Take Pictures Of You, Some Money

What Makes Blogging Challenging:

  1. Not Always Creative: If you are a writer you understand that you do not always feel the creative juices flowing. This is not the best if you need to devote two specific days to write a post. That usually equals writers block and, that can get very frustrating to have to walk away from blogging because you are not in the creative head space.
  2. Content: Coming up with content can be a bit of a challenge especially if you haven’t scheduled out what you want to write about. Be warned that going into writing a blog post without an idea can be pure genius or create a large headache.
  3. Time: Because this isn’t my full time job it’s hard to poor in the hours needed for the blog. Sometimes I feel like I am neglecting my blog and, I have to, to remind myself my other jobs need my attention because unfortunately, you need money to survive. My pet sitting jobs really allow me a lot of time to blog but, I also, need to create time to dedicate to the pets, workout, shower, eat. Sometimes I can neglect what I need because I’m so focused on my blog. It eats up so much time. I have been blogging since 8 a.m. this morning and, it is currently 1:34 p.m. I’m only on my third post of the day. I did take the dog out a few times and, shower. But, I would say I’ve been writing for a solid five hours. Like I said you need to have a lot of time if you are the only one creating content.
  4. Needing Money: I’ve mentioned a few times now that I need money to survive and, blogging doesn’t provide me with any. This can be extremely frustrating especially if I have poured my heart into a blog post.

Goals:

  1. Create seven blog posts a week- eventually get to 21 blog posts a week
  2. Give my readers awesome content
  3. Be helpful to the reader and, give them a few posts with information that they can use in their everyday life
  4. Write lots of travel blog while in Hawaii
  5. 500 Followers/Readers
  6. Make Money From The Blog That Will Allow Me To Dedicate More Time To The Blog
  7. Eventually Make A Living From Blogging So That Pet Sitting Money Will Be My Spending Money
  8. Sponsored Posts- That Would Also, benefit my readers

I hope you enjoyed some truth behind blogging. Please let me know if you start a blog I’d love to read one of your posts. Let me know in the comments if there is something specific you’d like me to talk about I’d be happy to write a post about it.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

Get It At The Goodwill Bins

Most Days we are strapped for cash and, it is no wonder because their is an ad popping up every 2 seconds showing us what next great product we can try. If you are like me, going toward a minimalist approach, zero waste and, consumer conscious lifestyle then, you will not be spending your hard earned money on useless junk. The reason I called this post “Get It At The Goodwill Bins,” was not that you should necessarily shop there but, that you become conscious about what you are bringing into your home. What do you actually need and, want your house to look like? Evaluate, take the time to think about each item you bring into your home, do you love it and, is it a sustainable piece that will last you twenty or more years. Now, when I shop I look for quality over quantity. I am aware of the waste we are producing, the slave labor for our fast fashion products and, the cheap quality.  Right now I am fortunate enough to live with my parents but, when I do move out I want my home to be my sanctuary. Do you walk into your home happy and, excited to be there or, do you walk in upset at all the clutter. I have that right now actually, one of the shelves broke in my room right before I went on vacation and, the shelving held a lot of things! Now that mixed with dirty and clean laundry, it is a bit overwhelming… But, I have a schedule set today and, that is one of the things I plan on accomplishing. Planning to take a day or, weekend and, tackle all the items that make you unhappy and, you want to toss is important. You can sell them or donate them but, the point is that you get rid of it. Make a list of items that you actually need not want but, need. How long is your list, is their a way to get these things that you need that you will feel happy buying? Personally, if I need something like a new pair of jeans that actually fit( not the ones you have tucked away in your closet when you lose those extra ten pounds, toss them they are a negative and, a reminder of something you haven’t accomplished yet) instead save up $80 for those ethical jeans that are eco-friendly, animal friendly and, sustainable. If you are investing $80 in jeans divide that by how long they will last, five or ten years, you are spending $16/year for five years for long lasting jeans, what a steal! If you are a jean wearer three pairs should last you a solid 10 years if you wash them the correct way. This is just an example of getting something that is quality over quantity. It is much easier to have your house hold reek of love, and, happiness with items you enjoy looking at. If I were to get a house/apartment etc.. I would probably fill my kitchen with items from etsy. I love buying from small businesses and, there are so many dishes that I have loved over the years. Instead of going to the dollar store or, thrift store and, getting mismatched items save up an, get one plate at a time if you have to. If the dishes at the thrift store bring you happiness pick them up. The point is to not overwhelm yourself with unnecessary clutter and, fill up you life with what you will enjoy. I have been cleaning and, getting rid of clutter an, items that I don’t use and, I don’t miss them.

Tips

  • Get rid of clutter and items you don’t love
  • Take one day to tackle one room
  • make a list of what you need
  • get sustainable items that will last for years
  • Resell on ebay, Moms on a budget, Craigs list etc..
  • Repeat until you have gone through every room
  • I hope you are happy when you walk into each room and, some items have a memory or, story to go with them

I haven’t read the whole Marie Kondo book but, I have taken some of her ideas such as, your item should bring you joy when you pick up. I still have more to go through but, I have picked up items that don’t bring me joy an, I have gotten rid of two bags. It also, awakens my mind to only purchase an item if I need it and, to get sustainable and, long lasting items. I always listen to positive and, uplifting music when I’m cleaning because it gives me a burst of energy.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/theemtreprenuerlife/

It is so late I really need to got to bed but, I wanted to share with you where I am at for all my businesses in 2017. I just started selling on ebay and, my goal is to have about 300 items listed every week in 2017 which, is going to be a challenge but, one I am ready to work very hard for. My ebay isn’t getting too much attention but, with hard work, more listings and, learning I am hoping to increase my watchers to at least 20 for now but, I hope to have them in the hundreds or thousands by the end of 2017. Poshmark has been moving like a snail and, I am trying to work from a new angle but, I am not sure why I haven’t been getting many bites even with my ongoing promotion. Poshmark has been a bit of an enigma that I am determined to solve. Amazon continues to grow and, I must feed it inventory every week or I can kiss my chances of making $3,000 a week goodbye. I understand how many products I need to sell in order to make close to a certain amount of money. I am still figuring out Amazon and, we are by no means making money off of it at the moment but, that is because I don’t have thousands of dollars to invest in Amazon. I am starting to focus back up on my blog and, trying to make money off of that because I think it is entirely possible. I have different topics I will be focusing on in order to gain more followers and, companies that want to run ads on my blog. YouTube although, I am absolutely in love with making videos I do not think I will be able to make money off of my channel but, I will continue to produce videos because I do have 51 fabulous followers and, I just enjoy it so much! Yes, there is more… I am continuing to do Freelance jobs because I need to make money and, enjoy writing for the companies. Freelance is really where I am bringing money in and, my plan is to make about $1,000 a month with Freelance which will require a lot of work. I think I covered everything haha… I really do work very hard and, I know it will pay off in the long run. It does deprive me a bit of a social life but, it is hard to have a social life without making money right? It is funny with all of these jobs I always here why don’t you get a part time job…. Well, although, I may not be making enough money to live on at the moment if I continue to work extremely hard it will pay off. I would not do will in a 9-5 job I am a creative person, explorer, boundary pusher who is an entrepreneur. This is my life welcome to it…

Nothing Fits Why….

Hello Loves,

So, the other day I was searching and, searching for affordable ethical clothing that will fit me and, honestly there is not much. I think I chatted with you all about not really finding to much at thrift stores that fit my size and, that 90% of my wardrobe is from Poshmark; I was not joking if you ask my friends and, family whenever anyone asks, “where did you get that,” I always respond, “Poshmark.” I absolutely love Poshmark but, sometimes I get really frustrated and, just want clothing that fits well on me. I don’t think it is to much to ask for clothes that fit, especially my chest. I’m sure most of you can relate when it comes to romper, jumpsuits, suits etc. There is always something wrong with a piece of clothing that just doesn’t fit quite right. Now, I am not an expert at sewing, in fact, you could call me a beginner but, I am determined to make myself some clothes that fit really well. I took pictures of items I liked that I want in my wardrobe fitted to my size. I know I’m not going to be able to whip up a dress right away; I do plan on practicing but, I am on a mission to get fabric I love that is ethical and, start sewing away. I do not know how long it will take me but, I’d like to have 10 summer outfits by June. It may be a bit presumptuous however, I would really like some clothing that fits to perfection. I have sewn before and, have made a few pieces but, nothing to this extent without the supervision of a fashion professor. This has been a long time coming especially now that I am a supporter of ethical fashion. I would like ten outfits that are casual/one’s I can wear out, 3 workout outfits and, 3 bathing suits. I will have to figure out how to make all of these things, where I can get fabric and, what time span I am looking at. I made a romper in a 2 hour and 45 minute class over about 13 weeks .  I was done early and, that is because I had an amazing lady next to me who sewed in high school and, she helped me figure out the pattern and, how to sew some of the pieces together. I was also, determined to get it done. That is less then 39 hours of work so, if I can get one piece done a week it will take 16 weeks to accomplish a ten piece summer collection. If I start at the end of January I should be done by end of second week of May. I have to purchase all fabric etc.. which can be very pricey but, it is custom made which could cost thousands of dollars and, I think it will be worth it as long as the pieces are wearable… I am also, on my way to losing weight and, I don’t want there to be a problem that all the clothing is too big so, I will have to see if a tailor or I will be able to take in the clothing. I am so excited/nervous to accomplish this. Please let me know if you would like a series about making clothing without really knowing everything about sewing. I am sure I will learn a lot. If you have any tips please let me know in the comments below. I think I will talk about this on my YouTube Channel as well so, if like to watch videos instead of reading I will leave my channel link below. If you want to follow my progress through instagram you can on @foreverseekingwanderlust and @allievluv.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

Confessions Of a Brazilian Call Girl

We have seen the many, many shows centered around prostitution, call girls a.k.a ( expensive prostitutes), hookers, women who turn tricks, porn. In many movies this is made to look like a luxurious life like Pretty Women but, the reality behind it is alarming. I have researched this topic a lot and, wanted to understand why mostly men turn toward paying a prostitute for sexual favors. Many men seem to just not have the time for a relationship others, have fetishes that most women will not accommodate and, the number one is that most men want to be heard. I’ve watched a lot of documentaries and, read quite a bit about this topic to see why this is appealing to every side. Call Girl- Seem to enjoy having sex, the power and, of course the money. What gets most of them in trouble are the drugs. I watched a series on women who have pimps which is ironically mentioned in Pretty Women. What we don’t usually see is how the women are treated from my research being a callgirl or girlfriend is a bit different and, has perks such as, reoccurring clients, better salary, a say in what is happening and, the ability to have a bit more stability. Women who have pimps are beaten if they don’t speak correctly, if the pimp is having a bad day and, if they didn’t get the right amount of money from their client. I am not an expert on this topic but, I wanted to talk about it and, see why this is necessary in life. I do not understand the abusive side that doesn’t make sense and, I can’t see why anyone would want to hurt another person. I do however have a better understanding of why men decide to pay a call girl etc.. She is essentially the perfect women she is available any hour of the day, will do almost anything and, she listens without out having an outward opinion. Yes this is degrading but, as I said I’m looking at each prospective. The whole being paid to be a girlfriend I find intriguing because most of these men would be able to get a girlfriend they are usually well-off business men. It seems they just don’t want to be bothered or don’t have the time to actually have a girlfriend. It is a bit sad to me because this women is being paid to not have any opinions of her own which I imagine can get old quick.  All this was brought on by a few Netflix documentaries I watched within the past couple of months. Some say that the porn industry is kind of the gateway to sex trafficking and, others would disagree. I have seen a lot of the links relating the two but, I have also, seen documentaries or read where girls think they are being brought to a better country only to be lead into the life of trafficking. This is even more frighting because a good percentage do not escape and, rules in other countries are not the same as the U.S. and, most of the girls are illegally in the country. It is sad and alarming because there is only so much we can do… The documentary After Porn Ends I found quite interesting. Women and Men in the pornographic industry are paid and, chose to come into this industry. While watching I saw a pattern with the women where there family life wasn’t great and, they needed money so, they went into the industry. After being out all of the women didn’t see their career as an accomplishment only something they had to do to get to where they are now. Each women was scared from their jobs while, the men claimed it was the best time of their life. I’m wondering why the men do not have traumatic scaring from this but, the women all did. Of course women an men have different ways of thinking but, why does it affect women in such a different way? And why is society as a whole obsessed with anything related to sex or sexual innuendos? I can’t answer my first question because I would have to do a bundle of research and, I’m sure there are many people researching this same question. In my conclusion, I see that most people are curious and, even more curious about what other people do. They want to be considered “good” so, the observe and, use what they learn. Sex can never be viewed the same which makes the topic taboo, curious, and seductive. In society it is seen as a hushed topic making the the word “sex,” extremely desirable. Just like drugs and, drinking when you can’t have it, most want it more. Maybe if we didn’t put so much into one word we wouldn’t have so many problems centered around it. It is funny that even within something like sex, communication is the key. Learning that having a partner, listening and, respecting each other is the most important  maybe we wouldn’t have prostitution etc… However, the only part I judge is the abusive part and, hurting people. If people actually enjoyed what they are doing like a porn star or a call girl there is no judgement on my part. I judge the people who try to own the person, not respecting them and, taking someones life away. Trafficking is absolutely wrong, having a pimp etc… The Brazilian Call Girl which is based on a true story went full circle and, she ended up writing about her experiences on a blog. Her blog was so popular she was able to charge high for clients but, it ended up going all wrong. I do not think women can handle being paid to have sex. I think they can’t separate their life from their other life which is why they end up turning to drugs. I would like to do a bit more research into this and, see why men and, women’s psyche are so remarkably different.

Zara Goes Ethical…

Well, I think the fashion industry has heard us loud and clear! Zara has made an ethical/ sustainable collection although, they were vague on the details, this is a step up for the mainstream fashion industry!  When I saw Zara launched an ethical clothing line my first thought was, ” Is Zara just trying to make money off of the ethical trend? ” To answer my question, I would say, “Yes, they are.” We can only applaud this because Zara may be starting a trend throughout the industry which will not only help spread our ethical message but, it will also, result in helping our planet. When you think about “earth” it is larger concept that some us may not be able to grasp. But, if you look at it as your backyard it is possible to conceive helping that little part of the planet. Now, think about others’ backyards all around the country, some of which are non existent because of  excess waste, and pollution. Imagine all of these things right in your backyard; your beautifully landscaped backyard no longer exist and, you helped in the destruction of not only your backyard but, many others. Now go to your sink and, pour yourself a glass of water this is a luxury that man countries do not have. Why is it that they can’t drink their water? The fast fashion industry that we made happen is one of the largest contributors. By using dyes that are filled with chemicals we are not only being extremely wasteful but, dumping the excess dyes into the water. A large population of the world turns a blind eye to all of the horrible methods of how our clothing is made. Some are unaware of the factories/water problem and, I feel it is all of our responsibilities to take action. By expressing the need for an ethical lifestyle we move companies like Zara, toward an ethical approach to their companies. Turning many companies into ethical companies should be one the many goals we set out accomplish on our journey to helping ours’ and others’ backyards.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

Hanky Panky: Capsule Wardrobe Update

Are you ready for some Hanky Panky…… underwear that is…. it’s so cheeky. As you know I am putting to together my ethical capsule wardrobe and, that means from head to toe. I realized I should toss my older underwear, and refresh my undergarment wardrobe. I searched for about two hours online which led me to the site Hanky Panky. Normally I would not see

underwear as an investment piece but, in this case I did and, I splurged a bit. The pricing isn’t so different from the ever so famous Victoria’s Secret, with a great bonus of ethical underwear I couldn’t pass them up. I only got four undergarments as that is what I can afford at the moment. Below I will show you a few pictures of the underwear and, the link to purchase them. It is time that we all get a conscious mind that focuses on what is important when it comes to the fashion industry; for me, that is fair trade, ethically made clothing. I support others who work very hard to bring us amazing clothing.

The Ethical Side Of Hanky Panky & Story:

Victoria’s Secret can be kept because there is a reason Hanky Panky’s trade mark is ” The World’s Most Comfortable Thong.” From the moment I clicked submit order to the moment I tried on a pair of Hanky’s silky smooth undies I knew they were something special. Since 1977 Gale Epstein has been creating the world’s phenomenon of underwear. I just want to know why hadn’t I heard about them sooner. Hanky Panky’s undergarments are made & fabric is grown in the U.S. using their signature lace knitting and Supima cotton. The reason their things are so comfy is because the use over 30 yards of thread per thong which means more stitches per inch not only does that equal extreme softness but, it also, equals longer lasting things! Instead of having to go out every month to by new underwear I will just have a set for each capsule wardrobe then, wha-la long lasting and, minimalistic undergarments! I have tested these thongs while working out and, they have not slipped so far and, you know what I mean if you move at all with a thong on. Well, these are technically g-strings but, same thing… either way there hasn’t been any ajusting of the underwear mid-workout which is fantastic! I really love the bikini bottoms better known as Vikini 2 Pack; they are great to wear to bed and silky smooth… They will defiantly be part of each seasons capsule wardrobe. Oh, in case you didn’t realize I am slowly making a capsule wardrobe for undergarments, athletic wear, shoes, and of course my regular wardrobe of 37-40 pieces of clothing. It has been quite an adventure and, my next step is bras.. For anyone who has a larger chest and smaller number like a 36 then, you will know finding a bra is next to impossible and, even when you do they are crazy expensive. If you know of an ethical site that sells larger bust sizes like 36DDD I would love to know where to get one! In the mean-time I will keep searching and, hopefully find one! When I do you all with be the first to know. Stay tuned for my capsule wardrobe updates coming your way!

Have an enlightening and, adventurous day,

allie

Capsule Wardrobe

Is the capsule wardrobe the most ethical and sustainable wardrobe to own, even if you love fashion. Well, ethical means that you are buying from fair trade companies that do not harm animals and, treat other human beings in a humane way. It can also, be ethical to buy secondhand because you are not contributing to new fast fashion items being made and, preventing the clothing from going into the landfills. I have volunteered at places where clothing is donated and, sold and, they are actually really picky on what they sell so, make sure if you are donating the clothing that is goes to a place where the clothing will be used. Capsule wardrobe was created in the 1970’s by Susie Fox a London

Boutique owner. Susie, strived for a capsule wardrobe to be a small collection of 37 items of clothing to wear for the season. A season last for about three months depending on where you live. In N.J. the weather can be very tricky sometimes it can be very warm and, change to snow all of a sudden. If you can plan for this by knowing what climate you live in and, how the weather changes this will help you a great deal to create your capsule wardrobe. You will develop a wardrobe of 37 items including shoes, coats, sweaters, tops, pants, skirts, dresses, and formal wear. You will be wearing all of these pieces for 3 months so, you will want some basic pieces and colors such as, white, black, nude, and brown. Because you will be wearing these pieces for three months you will want to find your style and, probably shake it up. So, I suggest a few fun pieces or accessories that will pull your outfit together. Keep in mind that your capsule wardrobe will not consist of handbags,

workout clothing, underwear, or bras. Woohoo so, you aren’t totally constriction well, that makes me think should you cap how many bags, and workout clothing you can have for the next three months? I actually think that is in your best interest as well as, your wallets. During the next three months you will not be shopping for any clothing under any circumstance so, taking that into consideration you can save items and, put them together for your next capsule wardrobe. Your wardrobes will probably coincide and, you should only have switch out 5-8 pieces. Before you go on your be shopping spree for the next three months make a list of what you are going to need, make sure you are purchasing preloved or ethical clothing only. If you are on an ethical journey this is not about gouging your bank account it is about minimalist living and, seeing what you need and, what you can do without. Chances are you can shop your wardrobe and find half of your pieces. Shop places like thrift stores or Poshmark to get the best deals and, when shopping Poshmark do not buy NWT (New Wtih Tag) unless, it is ethical clothing. Ok, now that you are brain storming your new wardrobe get ride of what you do not need. Make four plies, keeping(only for your next three month wardrobe), storing ( for future capsule wardrobe), Poshmark ( to sell), and Friends/Charity. Go through your entire closet; clothing, shoes, bags, and, see what piles that they belong. I suggest making a capsule collection for your bags, and workout clothing. If you do this and, reduce what is in your closet it can help a great deal with organization and, sense of space. You will also, see what style your wardrobe goes toward and, if that is the same style you want to portray. I would call my style athletic, casual, classic, chic. That is the style I would like to portray with my fall capsule wardrobe. I will have to make quite a bit of sales on Poshmark to be able to achieve this wardrobe because, I’d like to buy from a few ethical stores. But, let’s be honest almost my whole wardrobe is from Poshmark right now. The reason my style has been completely out of wack is that right now I am trying to lose weight because I did

recently gain and, haven’t been fitting in my clothes as well. Weight gain and, lose can be a major problem when it comes to wardrobes because you may have to get an entirely new one based on fit. Right now I am in the process of eating well and, exercising so, there is no reason for me to invest in a summer wardrobe when I know that I will be losing weight and, may be a completely different size by September. My goal is to save about $500 from Poshmark to invest in my Fall wardrobe. $500 may actual seem low for 3 months $166.66/month but, I plan on buying mostly from Poshmark because it is the most economic for me right now. I will also, be using fall items for Fall, Winter, and most likely Spring so, a $500 investment is well worth it. I have four months to decide what I want my fall fashion to be and, focus on. If you are all invested in a summer wardrobe I suggest siting down and, see what you actually need for the summer. I will be hard at work traveling, working, volunteering, developing my style, and working out. What will you be doing to prepare for your fall wardrobe?
Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie

I posted this on Instagram and really depicts how I feel about ethical living and, the fashion industry. Let’s be the change that we want to be in the world!

Do you care where your clothing is coming from, who is making it, how they live, and the impact that it is having on the environment. Most people's answer would be NO. This however, closed minded view is the reason the fashion industry can get away with paying oversea workers .25-$4 a day to work just to make clothing for us. We who are careless in our purchases are hurting the workers and the environment. Well, I no longer stand for this injustice. I will not buy from unethical companies because I do not support how they chose to conduct their business. "We do what they want us to," a quote from a song by Bittersweet is all to accurate. Some of you will continue to buy your cheaply made clothing because you chose to close your minds and, if it doesn't directly affect you, you dismiss the problem. Although, it may not affect you directly it will affect future generations when this planet's water supply is unusable because we threw dye into it from fabric. And, when the landfills are stacked but, are now in our backyards because we consumed too much. "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street. Fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."

Black Strap Molasses & Health Benefits

Hello Loves,

Lately I have been enlightened about healing my body. How I need to heal from the inside out and from the outside in. I am sure, that you have seen me inch closer and, closer to holistic, ethical, vegan friendly living. How else am I going to cure myself from all the calorie restricting and, harsh chemicals I used to eat/wear… Healing my body in ward and out ward is my first step toward healing myself. I want to make sure I am filling my body with whole plant based food as well as, mentally healing myself. I am not taking about healing myself mentally as an illness; I mean healing my entire being with the appreciation of life and, everyday abilities. I mainly do this through yoga, mediation and, the embracing of life. Now, I am taking it a step further and, really listening to my body. If I feel I need to rest I rest, if I want to dance I dance, if I need to move I move, if I need tranquility I rest my mind. No longer is my body subject to the ways others live their live but, the way I want to live mine. I have felt so much better these past couple of days just listening to what my body needs and wants. I will be talking to you this week about how important movement is for our lymphatic system and, how we do not give it enough attention. I will also, take about skincare and, how important and imperative it is to use vegan products and, chemical free products for your skin. Today, I am talking about Black Strap Molasses and, why I decided that my body needed this item and, why hadn’t anyone mentioned it to me before… Black strap comes from sugar cane and is boiled three times. Unlike, refined sugar the health benefits are incredible. It is used for healthy hair, skin structure, diabetic sweetener, natural laxative, with vitamins, and minerals.

Minerals & Vitamins:

  • Iron
  • calcium
  • manganese
  • selenium
  •  Vitamin B-6
  • niacin
  • potassium
  • copper

Blackstrap molasses is important  because it has a high amount of iron which “helps transport oxygen to the body tissues.”(http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/blackstrap-molasses-nutrition-3887.html)

Black Strap Molasses doe not contain fat and, the kind you want to ingest is Unsulphured Black Strap Molasses. If you would like to learn more about it there are many articles just google it and, you will find these facts and, more! So, my question is why didn’t we know about this sooner and, isn’t this a great replacement for a daily vitamin!? By the way, I tried it for the first time this morning and, it tastes like licorice! The texture may be a little hard to handle so, a tip is to put it into the fridge to thicken up.

Have an enlightening and adventurous day,

allie
